Many products using the Cloud APIs auto-create projects. I know of AI Studio and Google Script (including scripts embedded in Docs, Sheets, etc)

So many organizations have the IAM "Project creator" role assigned to everyone at the org level. I think it's even a default.

He did not like the Canadian prime minister's speech about "great powers" weaponizing economic integration, so he decided to prove him right.

Yes, it "dépannes" nearby, instead of making a trip to the grocery store.

They want control over the post content (in case it's deleted, edited, etc) and also track your interaction ASAP, so they link it instead of embed.

You will be asked to authenticate if you try to do anything.

I have this. About once a month, in the early morning hours, I hear a hard to describe, "internal" sound, as if a hard object hit my cranium. Extremely loud, but painless. 20 years ago it was distressing but now it barely wakes me up.

Stress does seem to increase occurrences for me.

It becomes way more straightforward if it's a server with redundant power supplies.
Why oh why haven't they pushed an update that made it easy to identify and change passwords that were leaked. They have the feature to identify weak or compromised passwords ALREADY.

Instead a user still has to create a folder for compromised secrets, change them and move them out of the folder one by one. Best of all, users would hit a bug where moving entries to/from shared folders would destroy the entry.

Edit: at least let the user (or entreprise admin) mark a vault as compromised. Must have been an absolute nightmare to get corp users to rotate their passwords.

Go in any app, highlight a word, "Search on the Web"
Yes, since 2021 Youtube serves ads regardless if the user is signed up for monetization or not.
Partners are everyone with monetization (revenue sharing) [1]. It's available in many many countries [2]. The countries you are listing are the early access to newer features like superchats, merch store, etc [3]

It's all there, no need for rumors and hearsay.

Creator gets 55% of ad revenue, and 70% of direct contributions like superchats. Premium revenue is shared as well. Ad-blocked views count for analytics but not in ad impressions.

Re:Twilio is firing 17% of workforce on Monday February 13, 2023 @11:29AM (#34775657)
1 - Create a Twilio account.

2 - You need to add a phone number and receive a SMS challenge, before setting up any other 2FA method

3 - With the Authy app installed on your phone, the token is instead instantly added to your account upon reception of the SMS. This cannot be disabled. Use a very particular combination of steps in the account settings to convince it to let you use a simple offline TOTP app instead.

4 - Use your recovery code every month and repeat the whole thing because somehow all other 2FA methods break simultaneously for all Twilio accounts set up with that phone number.

The experience was so awful I had to delete the App and the account.

My personal trick: as long as I'm confident that I will be able to refactor in the abstraction, I don't bother. I may or may not ever revisit that code.

So what's the actual impact? You can't set sharing on your .DS_Store file as "Anyone on the Internet with the link"?

It's bad enough that Google Drive/Docs notifications are treated as "external senders" so you have to open up your internal Google Groups to the world; then Google Groups flags them as spam anyway!

I'm guessing spammers may use Google Docs comments as a platform, but have never seen actual unsolicited Docs comments.

Re:Google Compute Engine VM takeover via DHCP flood on Tuesday June 29, 2021 @09:11AM (#27675288)
The usual configuration is 1 or many subnets per VPC, and one or many VPC per project. a Shared VPC setup between projects is also possible but requires prior agreement from both projects.
Here's an expanded explanation of the "lots of black holes" hypothesis, posted this week by PBS Space Time.

"What If (Tiny) Black Holes Are Everywhere?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srVKjWn26AQ

Dark Matter is just a placeholder name, don't read too much into the "Matter" part. There are no assumptions there and plenty of alternate explanations are proposed, like Modified Gravity (MOND)

I had to replace the default Apple Podcasts app (went with overcast). An update made it completely unusable for me, particularly when I had one hand available to hold the phone and press buttons.
