Re:Practical approach for streaming UI from LLMs on Saturday August 23, 2025 @11:31PM (#45001107)
Really nice writeup!

I've been thinking about this approach. How do you handle updates on this setup? For example, a status component that goes from "loading" to "success".

Does the LLM go back and modify the previous response, sending deltas to the client? Effectively changing the component from loading to success. Or is something else happening behind the scenes?

Re:Spaced repetition systems have gotten way better on Monday May 19, 2025 @12:10AM (#44026435)
This is absolutely true and yet Anki and these algorithms have a long way to go.

For example, I still have not seen the perfect pairing between a notecard tool like Anki and LLMs. Most tools I've seen are focused around simplified notecard creaton. While I agree automatically creating cards from study material is great, the features I am most excited about feel more like a personal spaced repetition tutor.

- A system that rewords questions for me on certain reviews so I am not over fitting my memory to the wording of my note cards

- Automatically grading my responses. Perfect for scenarios like driving using voice recognition.

- Helping me draw connections to things I don't know based on the things know really well. The system should have a good sense for what anologies or topics to pull inspiration from based on my previous reviews.

- Automatically creating and splitting cards for me if I am forgetting parts or have inconsistent responses.

In the end I am looking for something "smarter", more personal, and with a focus on simplicity. Spaced repetition tools have gotten really good AND they have a long way to go.

Maybe a skill issue or maybe it's time we need a refresh?

Is anyone working on this? I started https://www.automem.us/ with the vision above and some traction but have unfortunately not been able to keep up with it as much as I'd like. If there is any interest in this let me know, I'd love to connect to collaborate or open source it.

Surprised I have not come across Uptale until right now. From first glance it looks like there is going to be a good amount of overlap.

+1 to it's not for everything. One challenge we faced was teaching customers "when" using VR makes sense.

Thanks! We will be updating the repo soon with screenshots and additional documentation :)
Great talk! This is an excellent intro into the state of WebXR

A Mnemonic Generator for anyone that needs help remembering a word or phrase: https://automem.us/tools/mnemonic-generator

Type in the word or phrase you want to remember and it will create a mnemonic you can use to help you remember it!

+1 for Notion. If you are interested, I would also look into a system like "Getting Things Done" or "Zen to Done" for a more bite-sized approach.

219 notes though, sounds like you already have a good habit of capturing your thoughts! Organizing tasks into current contexts has helped me a lot (At Computer, Housework, Wife,...). Best of luck!
