Re:Ask HN: Why shouldn't I leave Google? on Tuesday June 06, 2017 @10:36AM (#14497515)
You're 26 with a skill-set that's in demand and you've worked for a company that will give you some clout moving forward. So you should be fine in that regard. If you're truly passionate about starting your own business, that'll win out in the long run. Don't pressure yourself into making a decision prematurely. Take your time. Maybe write down all the pros and cons for both staying and leaving. At the end of the day, making a well-informed decision is what I'd like to see anyone do in this situation. Living with regrets can be tough and you owe it to yourself to pursue your dreams.

Good stuff. Never used Vue and I didn't know Udacity had a course on it. I'll have to look into that. Was going to try Node.Js as well.

Great points! I preferred Django over Rails honestly.

I'm thinking about giving 5.1 a shot. Haven't worked with Rails since 4.2.
Re:Ask HN: Books you wish you had read earlier? on Sunday June 04, 2017 @07:13AM (#14480801)
Those 4 gospels offer varying perspectives and are worth reading as well. They each offer something different and can be helpful when studying. For example, Luke's account offers insight as to what was going on during the time of Christ's birth(see Chapter 2, the decree from Caesar Augustus) while Matthew starts off with the genealogy of Christ. So I believe that reading cover to cover is worth it.
Thoroughly enjoyed your IH profile. Learned a lot too. Thanks for sharing and continue to prosper.
Had no clue that was done by one person. Would definitely check that IH profile out if ever done.

What's good @dhruvp, I see that we have 6 months in total to complete the course. Does that start from the time of sign up or when we actually start the course? I ask because I'd like to take advantage of the great price but I know my workload won't permit me starting for at least a month.
Couldn't agree more.

I actually just signed up for this last week.

How long has it been since you shut down? Any idea on what needs to be done in particular for the headaches to stop and this to be resolved?

Awesome and informative. Never understood the whole VCs investing in Delaware C Corps deal but your explanation makes sense to me.

This game was a classic. Used to play with my brothers for hours; cheat codes and all.
