115 $/MWh.

Thats what EDF's stating their NUWARD SMR (up to 400MW) will cost in France, just as comparison. Not cheap for the taxpayers in Italy.

Re:Where Do the Children Play? on Monday November 17, 2025 @02:47AM (#45951621)
Well, I think it's fine, building jumbo planes Or taking a ride on a cosmic train Switch on summer from a slot machine Yes, get what you want to if you want 'Cause you can get anything

I know we've come a long way We're changing day to day But tell me, where do the children play?

Well, you roll on roads over fresh green grass For your lorry loads pumping petrol gas And you make them long, and you make them tough But they just go on and on, and it seems that you can't get off

Oh, I know we've come a long way We're changing day to day But tell me, where do the children play?

I think this is a quite disturbing article, comparing religious belonging to some sort of intellectual superiority.
Re:How do you scale your web application? on Tuesday August 18, 2009 @12:32PM (#770806)
If you find it difficult to scale up databases, try looking at CouchDB instead http://couchdb.apache.org/index.html
Re:How do you scale your web application? on Tuesday August 18, 2009 @09:14AM (#770347)
We scale Streamfile.com with Erlang. Both front & back-end.

Re:Google's Chiller-Less Data Center on Thursday July 16, 2009 @09:02AM (#707818)
This actually makes sense, Google's new policy is to work on problems on a scale that no one else can. Too hot in the data center? Ah, just turn it off and redirect the traffic! :)
Re:Ask HN: Any advice on new Streamfile functionality? on Wednesday July 15, 2009 @08:46AM (#705578)
New Streamfile features just added! 1. As a downloader/receiver you can now see upload/sender progress bar in real-time 2. Optional PIN/password code + .zip/disk encryption if a password is set by uploader/sender. Any feedback on current functions or future functionality you would like to see?

Swedish foreign minister switches to Mac

http://carlbildt.wordpress.com/2008/10/04/en-ny-varld/

Direct translated from Swedish. This one is good PR for Apple:"Last week after a lot of consideration, testing and discussing I finally took the decision to switch from the Microsoft world to Mac.I went and bought one. This month largest understatement is to say I don't regret this step. The only criticism I have to say to myself is why did I wait this long to take the step.It is a bit tricky to...

Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @05:21PM (#252697)
We got a bunch of feedback actually on the content-type issue. Definitely something to fix.

bayleo: good point, maybe we should change the order on the bottom navigation bar..
Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @05:03PM (#252681)
Good question. I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with that Sweden has one of the highest penetration of fiber optic networks due to government subsidization starting early 90-ties.
Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @04:54PM (#252671)
The plan is soon to launch an API where you pay a monthly fee to integrate streamfile functionality into your own site/domain. Plus we will charge for the regular service, that are currently for free until the 31st of August.
Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @12:12PM (#252371)
I agree, however we would like not to get users confused that Stremfile.com is yet another web 2.0 app with large headlines etc. We want it to breathe backend and be very minimalistic. I mean look at Google.com?
Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @12:10PM (#252368)
Will look into and solve this asap.

Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @08:19AM (#252172)
Agree. Actually, We will shortly add an embedded movie clip that greets visitors with a short presentation and explanation of the service.
Re:Rate/Review my startup - streamfile on Monday July 21, 2008 @07:45AM (#252154)
In the beginning we will add customers manually and charge them via www.kreditor.se
