I get about the same speed (35 tok/s) out of 13B Llama2 on a 4070 Ti, FWIW.

uBlock is great for this sort of stuff. I also use it to hide the Hot Network Questions on Stack Overflow. I often get distracted by those.

Huh, I'd forgotten unclosed p-tags were a thing.

I wasn't aware you can see what others are watching. How does one do that?

But extrapolating from one HN commenter onto the entire zeitgeist is acceptable to you?

>"Cryptocurrencies are essentially neither money nor a financial product, but an example of what Nobel laureate Robert Shiller calls a 'contagious narrative': a contagious story in which people believe because other people believe in it."
How is this different from money or the financial markets? Why do those continue to exist if not for the belief we collectively have in them? And why is that only a problem for bitcoin?

There's no visible teal/cyan anywhere for me. These are my Firefox Color settings: https://color.firefox.com/?theme=XQAAAAJAAQAAAAAAAABBqYhm849...
I've hidden the tab bar, though, so there will likely still be an accent there.

That argument starts to lose some of its power when DDG is recommending the extension specifically to block FLoC.
Re:Yank: Yank Terminal Output to Clipboard

You could also use `xclip -selection clipboard` if you wanted it to end up in your clipboard (so you can use ctrl-v to paste) instead of in your primary selection (the one where highlighting text copies and middle click pastes).
Re:Ask HN: Anyone know any funny programming jokes?
on Thursday January 21, 2021 @02:52AM (#25856542)
Love the joke, but to me it points to something else than gratuitous state variables. I think of it as "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail", with the hammer being "procedurally solving problems".
Re:Zoom improvements requested by music schools

How does this impact large orchestras? Some of these musicians have got to be (way) over 10 m apart. Even 10 m at the speed of sound is almost 30 ms.

I think at least in my case, that sense of progression is definitely a big reason why my own "compositions" sound pretty good.
