It would be interesting to fork this not to look at the physics/perception but to have it model real players/skills/tactics and then have the league compete that way - at least until the models are a little less caveman-plays-hungry-hungry-hippos.

It could also be interesting to have a tier system so frontier models can compete against foundation, legacy, open-source, and open/closed models and be relegated/promoted.

I always enjoy these comparisons between models, especially when they demonstrate the actual costs in addition to the outputs.
Isn't the point of journaling to actually sit, think, and personally record your day upon reflection? I'd be curious to see what benefits this provides, from a mental health standpoint versus the analog. Edit: I should note that I do like the idea nevertheless.
Re:Ask HN: What LLM models are you using and why? on Wednesday May 20, 2026 @11:16AM (#48209199)
Just curious what constitutes a 'demanding' coding task for you.
There is GNAP (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc9635/) which is predicated on PBAC. Particular for agentic AI, I think it is sort of falling into a sort of RXC model: read/execute (inc. write), and commit. The X portion is a bit wonky but basically comes down to can the agent trigger a function.
Re:Malus – Clean Room as a Service on Thursday March 12, 2026 @11:51AM (#47352604)
Too late. Someone's senior executive management has probably already seen it and spinning up a new project to implement it.
Re:OpenAI prepares to launch GPT-5 in August on Thursday July 24, 2025 @03:54PM (#44675263)
For what it's worth, I had Agent Mode deployed to my account earlier this morning.

And yet there is no actual policy posted.

Re:Scheduled Tasks in ChatGPT on Wednesday January 15, 2025 @04:22PM (#42717211)
Oddly enough, I do not have access to scheduled tasks either on the app or web interfaces and I am a paying customer.
Salary, Role and responsibilities, Trajectory for the company, Perks, Culture, Leadership vision, Special projects, Team composition, Ability to do a 'reverse interview' - meet with your new team and interview them.

Just to name a few.

So what's stopping me from checking into r/nyu and asking a multitude people to respond?

Where is the money to be made?

What makes a freshman mentor qualified to actually talk about the breadth of a program or a career when they have little to no exposure of a full 4 year program or job-track?

There are a number of questions that aren't answered succinctly on your site (at least that 'pop-out' at me) or within your post.

Genuine question: What value proposition does your company offer? Can't I get these same questions answered from a variety of different sources?

Additionally, some of the mentor responses lack a certain level of professionalism to be called a mentor. Example: "Question: Hi I am applying to NYU this fall. I have never visited NYU before because I live all the way in California. I was wondering if you could share your experience starting at NYU? Also any background info like where you came from, how was the transition, did you have to move far, etc.? Any extra information you want to add would be rlly helpful. Thanks in advance!

Answer: Absolutely! I'm from Chicago, Originally. (not the actual city, the suburbs. Fucking Suburbia, man.) I hope it makes you feel better to know that I'd never visited NYU before actually ..."

Re:Singapore Is Taking the ‘Smart City’ to a New Level on Tuesday April 26, 2016 @07:14AM (#11570856)
Many are likely to hail this as some sort of ushering in of a new age while simultaneously preach about the FBI cracking an iPhone - interesting to see where this ends up.
Ask them to write instructions on how to tie their shoe.

Chances are, someone will say that they just bend over and tie them.

Point out to them that it isn't quite that simple - once they see that a problem can be broken down further to the point that you're telling your hand to put the lace against your index finger's first knuckle and the point of the middle finger, they begin to understand - then introduce your methods which they happily embrace.

Thats why they're fed a cocktail of amphetamines pre-flight for longer sorties.
I think most people would argue that they had to pay for their housing but here we have people getting it for free.

Ditto this experience from Shopify
Re:Mark Zuckerberg's plan for the future of Facebook on Tuesday November 17, 2015 @11:11AM (#10581977)
I think the assertion is that Joe Public doesn't really care about his/her privacy anymore provided they consent to it's initial release.

It seems to me that over a billion people are fine giving their privacy over to Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/<insert other company> but not necessarily the Government (of any country).

Re:Balsillie fears TPP will cost Canada billions on Monday November 09, 2015 @12:06PM (#10534199)
What exactly was wrong with the way negotiations were handled? If by in-secret, that is par for the course for a number of large trade agreements.
Re:Buffett FAQ on Wednesday September 02, 2015 @08:33AM (#10158725)
Very comprehensive but some answers can be very dated.
I don't see any way that this could be counted as inappropriate. They're asking you to come on board and they should feel comfortable with you understanding their business.
Re:How Google killed my startup on Tuesday August 18, 2015 @10:06AM (#10079231)
Their product wasn't really revolutionary - it didn't present anything new. By their own accounts, there was nothing stopping Lynda.com from offering the exact same service (along with a multitude of other online course/video services).

Google didn't kill their startup, their own naivity did.

Re:Uber's Original Blog and First Posts on Friday June 26, 2015 @01:25PM (#9786309)
To echo SilasX, there was (and in most places) no way to ensure that your taxi will acctually arrive if dispatched.

Sometimes while en route to you, they'd pick up another passenger or the wrong cab would pick you up which would frustrate many of the drivers.

Re:Becoming a contractor programmer in the UK on Tuesday June 16, 2015 @11:07AM (#9726313)
This looks incredibly helpful - I wish someone would do one for the US/Canada
Would be interesting to see what kind of liability this could open them up to. It had thought that Toronto was a US city, for example.
Re:Shenzhen-listed stock increases by 10% each day on Friday May 01, 2015 @03:12PM (#9473839)
I'd be interested to know as well. My brokerage only lets me trade on 10 exchanges.
Ditto. Every time I end up at a networking event, someone without fail always ends up pitching that they have either Facebook for X or Groupon for Y.

No matter how you approach it, feigning interest, dismissing them, or talking about your reserverations, they never seem to get it.

Re:Ask HN: Freelancer's – what is the ideal client on Wednesday April 01, 2015 @08:22AM (#9303025)
An ideal client is one that understands what they're looking for - too many opt to change specs right before delivery and figure that they change just amount to pressing a button here or there.

Clients should also agree to a schedule for deliverables; don't expect a finished product 27 minutes after the contract has been signed. Conversely, a freelancer should know when to expect payment and due dates.

I would recommend visiting local businesses who do not currently have a web presence or have a very bad portal.

Bring along some samples of work and show them what your firm is able to do. Perhaps client testamonials or stats showing how it will ultimately benefit them.
