Show HN: Reallyfrom.me – vouch that your message is from you

Having a message sent from someone who cared enough to read and write that message to you is important. But with agentic and autonomous methods of sending messages, it's harder to trust that any effort has gone into writing a message. So we created ReallyFrom.me -- write a message, generate a hash code and send the message to whomever with the link we create. The recipient can paste your...

Re:Sleep research led to a new sleep apnea drug on Friday May 22, 2026 @09:10PM (#48243527)
I have severe obstructive sleep apnea -- am 6ft and 210. I wear a CPAP and now swear by it. A couple things to help those who try:

1) Make sure you have a CPAP machine with a water tank so the forced air is moist. For me, if the water runs out, that's when I wake up bc my nose dries.

2) Get a spray saline solution for your nose -- not Afrin or drugs (habit inducing) -- just simple and cheap Arm & Hammer Simply Saline.

3) Wear a shirt when you're in bed and put the hose under your shirt so it's hard to roll off.

4) Bonus -- sleep elevated.

Those are my best tips. If you can do the CPAP and suffer the awkwardness, you'll really feel so much better. First time it stuck, I woke up at 4:45 am fully rested and felt as if a heavy weight was lifted off me.

Best luck :)

Show HN: GPT-4 Analyzed Customer Feedback to Replace NPS Scores

I'm excited to share a new platform called AskHumans (askhumans.io), which aims to transform the way organizations gather customer feedback by leveraging GPT. The goal is to provide a more insightful and personalized alternative to the widely used but often limited Net Promoter Score (NPS).Having launched startups before, a consistent challenge has been gathering meaningful customer feedback....

Hey Chris. . . given the novel nature of your product (it looks very sleek btw) and you're looking to gather feedback, maybe we can talk using askhumans.io to gather feedback at scale? also, many years ago, I worked on compressed air energy storage on the demand side and we looked at co-generation opportunities to drive the caes turbines. anyways, would love to connect.

Ask HN: Best tactics for product feedback and when is enough enough?

Hey everyone, we all know how important it is to gather feedback on our projects and ideas. But how do you go about doing it? And how do you know when you've gathered enough feedback to move forward with your plans?I'd love to hear about your strategies for gathering feedback, whether you use online surveys, focus groups, or other research methods. Do you rely on personal connections and...

Re:A Third UFO/Balloon Shot Down by US over Lake Huron on Sunday February 12, 2023 @09:24PM (#34769475)
I say hover because the pentagon is saying the same object was seen twice in two days. . . The day before it was in Montana then 24 plus hours later in Michigan.

“A unidentified object has been shot down by U.S. forces over Lake Huron, according to the Department of Defense. The object appears to be the same object that had been detected over Montana a day earlier, said officials.“

Re:A Third UFO/Balloon Shot Down by US over Lake Huron on Sunday February 12, 2023 @08:55PM (#34769285)
It seems like the reporting is that two out of three objects are said not to be balloons. I don’t know of any terrestrial technology that can be that large (size of car) aloft for multiple hours/days that hovers. Am I correctly groking the news here?

Ask HN: Interested in joining slack channel for SaaS founders?

I’m launching a new company in the coming weeks and thought it would be nice to connect with 5 or so other founders who are doing the same thing. So wanted to post this up and see if anyone would be interested in talking regularly about each person’s progress. Just leave a comment if interested and I’ll DM you.

Re:What diversity and inclusion means at Microsoft on Tuesday October 11, 2022 @02:28PM (#33167104)
Can I just add here that this is an AWESOME opportunity to reflect on how YC may not be that "inviting" to minorities when so many comments here speak to how minorities at FANG companies are not as qualified as others.

Comments like these btw. . .

"Race or gender has nothing to do with physical appearance. Simply allow people to freely choose their race and gender, problem solved!"

"At this moment in time I think companies can gain a major hiring advantage by simply hiring the best regardless of race/gender. So many large companies are shooting themselves in the foot distorting incentives and saying "no" to people who are the wrong color/gender."

wow. . . downvoted twice? but for what?
Re:What diversity and inclusion means at Microsoft on Tuesday October 11, 2022 @02:18PM (#33166918)
From a US perspective, it's frustrating when people say that seeking diversity in the workplace is antithetical to merit based hiring. White people are over represented across the workforce because America is not a meritocracy -- benefits of economic class are correlated with race because of white supremacy. Now I know that white people often hate to consider that their success is driven (or influenced) by race advantaged class conditions, but a nice thought experiment would be to ask "how much would someone have to pay you to be the same person but black in your organization?" The nice thing about this question is that I assume the unfounded skepticism of black people in my company are being unequally promoted falls on its face when you yourself would not choose to be black where you work.

On another note, most of us are familiar with Buffet's 9th wonder of the world -- compounding interest. What if you take that observation and apply it to the present day class advantages of non-minorities when they and their parental lineage have literally always been socially, economically and legally advantaged since the writing of the US Constitution.
