Dear OpenAI and Anthropic Sales Leaders

We've been going through enterprise sales processes with both of you, and I've encountered some practices I haven't seen before with other B2B vendors:Usage data availability:We're being told we can't access usage data for our existing accounts unless we sign a 12-month commitment. We need this data to make an informed purchasing decision.Pricing validity:Received a pricing link with 14-day...

This keeps coming up in most countries every few years. Everyone seems to forget in nearly every country telecoms are licensed industries and providing legal intercept is a legal obligation of those licenses.

And the rest of society has the right to exclude you if your carrying a deadly virus.
Based on the responses here can tell this is the crowd who like to recite CS101 algorithms on a whiteboard in interviews.

This approach is overall fairer to students by looking at the whole school year not one three hour exam based. UK exam setup has not really changed in 30 years plus and just because you did it is not a good reason to rethink how this works.

One of the things missed here also is a lot of exam boards historically let the teacher decide if the student is “not great” to sit the lower tier exam and cap there grade to a C no matter if you got 60 or 100% on the exam.

This is awesome. Please leave instructions for people to run it at home so that no one can accidentally commit a hippa violation.

Probably gone amiss in this whole thing. Apple technically could post this letter under the proposed legislation because they are not a "telecommunications provider" which is a specific term in UK law referring to those companies who provide telecoms services usually mobile operators, BT etc.

Apple is not a licensed telecoms provider as they would never of been able to provide iMessage in the UK as it lacks any ability for real-time intercept a requirement on telecoms providers.

Just had a look at my local resort Whistler and you kinda need to update it, the run difficulties are graded differently. We go green > blue > black > double black

Literally about 4 weeks from finishing my job and hitting the open road / seas. It's taken me several years to do it but the timing this year has kind of worked out (I also turned 30 this year).

The Why?

I am basically just "surviving" month to month paying rent, seeing same people, doing same things and not really having any new experiences. At 30, this is my last chance to qualify for various visa options which would allow work in other countries. I also recently finished paying off all my college loans etc.

The how:

I finish my job on the 28th May (also move out of my place that day) and will be joining friends for a few weeks of sailing and then heading for Asia for summer and Canada for winter.

Financially speaking it's going to be tough I am leaving a well-paid permanent role but not a huge amount of savings (but no debts). The one plus side is the average gap year costs about £5k including flights and insurance and I am well above that amount so happy.

Am I scared? Yes of cause, but I have done several multi-week trips in Europe and lived abroad before and work is only ever a plane ride away. I am actually pretty happy to be doing bar work or working retail and having some different experiences to being stuck in-front of a keyboard.

It's going to be an adventure regardless and a change I need!

Re:Anemomind: Digital Advisor for Sailors on Sunday November 30, 2014 @07:14PM (#8678839)
Disagree, their is a ton of data on the NMEA bus on even small boats which is useful for logging and working out whats going on across various systems. I built a custom board to handle this last year with a Pi for capture.

Generally from what I've seen in the UK is GPS, Log and weather vane's are digital so should have NMEA feeds. Small vessels are advised to use paper charts. Its one of those things which still beats an electric plotter.

Re:Vacations and Fingerprint Scans on Sunday April 07, 2013 @04:37AM (#5506537)
Far as I am aware form previous visits and discussions Disney delete the fingerprint record when the ticket expires.

Also the level of fingerprint scanner we are talking about is not even close to say the one UCIS use when you come into the US. UCIS having my fingerprint is actually pretty handy as it speeds up border processing with new passports etc.

Busch Gardens use a hand size device which is just weird.

Re:How My Startup Got Robbed on Monday January 07, 2013 @10:26AM (#5021374)
Not 100% but assuming this is a US company, isn't this a criminal act? Also if it's as much money as it sounds surely its a felony.
Re:Ask HN: Macbook Air + Remote Server = Macbook Pro? on Sunday January 06, 2013 @08:42AM (#5016282)
In my office we have been giving all dev's 13" full spec air's for about 2 years. Need to process a big data set etc? Do it on our EC2 setup. It works better and people don't tend to have as much stuff on there machines.
4 days after the UK release date.
