Exactly what I wonder, the pollution problem should not be turned into an electric car sales booster, it is a wider problem that needs to be tackled from different directions and I don't hear anybody making a wider analysis or plan.

Re:California Will Phase Out Gasoline-Powered Cars on Wednesday September 23, 2020 @04:19PM (#24571485)
Having electric cars is just moving the pollution to another place, were the power is generated. Forests and trees are the filter of the planet, if you don't have enough the pollution stays no matter what.
Re:California Will Phase Out Gasoline-Powered Cars on Wednesday September 23, 2020 @04:08PM (#24571371)
How do we know that a feasible solution is replacing the cars instead of keeping the forests and plants alive and growing?
A phone app could replace this right? Using the front facing camera you could run some image recognition to count the flow of people and show the statistics on screen. Put the phone on a stand and leave it running. Much cheaper.
Even with Apple earbuds battery could be easily replaceable if the cylindrical part of the piece was screw-able to the top. Just like a flashlight.
Re:Congrats! Web scraping is legal! (US precedent) on Wednesday January 29, 2020 @09:20AM (#22180714)
Wonder if this means more native apps that are harder to scrap and less websites from companies that don’t want their data scrapped.

They could implement to run automatically for the first time and them need approval in the next 30 mins to avoid spamming.

Looks like Ember for the most part. Look at the code, it's not minified, yet...
Re:How to open a microchip and see what’s inside on Thursday March 28, 2019 @07:39AM (#19511166)
I always liked the physical side of electronics as contrary as computer programming where is all virtual nowadays.

What would be the career path for a job in chip design and manufacturing?

True, distracting the public, kind of like the first episode of Black Mirror.

Out of the box thinking.
Re:PfSense vs OPNsense: technical comparison on Saturday June 30, 2018 @09:17PM (#17433557)
One case where I would use pfsense. Let's say you are a system admin of an small private school, you get an alert email from Comcast saying that copyrighted content was downloaded using torrents. You deploy pfsense and with 30 clicks you have snort configured and set to block torrent connections.
Re:The life cycle of HIV in 3D [video] on Thursday May 03, 2018 @10:58AM (#16986599)
Yeah, that's what I would imagine, it is a chain of events so you could disrupt the process breaking one step, which one? I can't tell. But I know for sure that we are smarter than those micro organisms trying to do their thing :)
Re:The life cycle of HIV in 3D [video] on Thursday May 03, 2018 @12:00AM (#16983269)
Question. How is that even knowing the lifecycle of HIV at this level of detail, there is not a cure for it?
Ohh I see! I tested ping to 1.1.1.1 and the latency was less than 1ms I was surprised, now I see why. Funny :)
Re:Google IT Support Professional Certificate on Wednesday January 17, 2018 @01:22PM (#16170318)
Happy that it covers writing code for automation. I have automated some tedious tasks at my current job, it saves hours of frustration and boredom.

Wow I did not know that there was an explanation for this. Makes sense. :)

Re:Do you own your digital content? on Monday November 27, 2017 @03:25PM (#15790893)
My question is, will ever be a system that allows you to share or sell the content you buy online i.e, books, music, movis, etc. If you are buying it at the original physical item price, why would I prefer to get it online when I can't even give it to a friend. Would this alleviate people copying and distributing not owned content?
Re:Call for the Resignation of FCC Chairman Ajit Varadaraj Pai on Saturday November 25, 2017 @10:37AM (#15776339)
Seriously, is this all the plan of one guy? Ajit Pai, if so, how could we give such power to one person. I don't think it's his plan it never it's, his resignation won't mean anything.
