The measurement logs will be publicly available.

What is your time estimate for a company to fix their assembly alignment and paint issues versus the technologies being years behind in a car? That’s the point here.

Thanks for this. It’s a great read. Looking for part II on more of OS X‘s evolution (64 bit, Intel, DriverKit, etc).

Re:Apple iOS 13.1 Personal automation via Shortcuts on Thursday September 26, 2019 @11:16AM (#21081654)
I was hoping that I can finally change night shift intensity based on time of day. Unfortunately night shift isn’t configurable by Shortcut yet.
Re:Apple iPhone SE Available on Apple Store Again on Monday March 25, 2019 @08:10AM (#19481815)
Apple is close to solving the market problem with XR being a success. The next interaction of the XS line can offer a smaller version without cannibalizing mainstream iPhones, just like the current iPad line up.

Wrong link?
That's cool. Definitely bringing some memories back. If scroll position is maintained when going back to the homepage I'd definitely stayed longer :).

Ask HN: Why is battery life on iOS major betas so poor?

I wonder why battery life on iOS major betas are still so bad.On the app level, Apple apps have strict power profiling. I've spoken to Apple's app engineers, and one of their biggest constraints in feature delivery is rejection by "battery police". So an app's power profile should be measured even in development. On the OS level, several advancements like coalescing and App Nap are making the...

While this is funny it misses the point that life is a journey and not about the end result.
Re:iPad 9.7‑inch on Tuesday March 21, 2017 @05:35PM (#13926487)
I think you're missing the rumours on the new 10.5" iPad Pro. Hold your judgement before that. What if the future product lines are only iPad and iPad Pro? With iPad at 7.9" and 9.7", iPad Pro at 10.5" and 12"? Many have said that the 10.5" iPad Pro would be the 12"'s resolution at 326 ppi, and I think thats reasonable.
Re:Best Wifi Mesh Network Kits on Monday December 05, 2016 @07:35AM (#13104974)
Not sure if you have read the long article but cool to see that they did include a discussion on Ubiquiti even they aren't wifi mesh.

Ask HN: Best way to crunch 3 weeks work into 2?

Hello HN,I'm working as a dev in a brand new startup. The team is new (but experienced) so there was some learning / setup overhead but it's now fairly minimal. We use Clubhouse so we have some insights into our velocity. Now, base on our realistic projection we need at least 17 days before we can deliver our initial Epics. However, management could no longer wait and they have set an arbitrary...

Planswell | planswell.ca | Senior full-stack developer | Fulltime ONSITE | Toronto ON, Canada

Planswell is a new FinTech startup based in Toronto aiming to deliver financial planning at scale.

What we're doing at Planswell is incredibly valuable to Canadian families. 95% of Canadians, because they are not yet wealthy, don't have access to quality financial planning. And we can give it to them, without human error or bias. And to deliver that, we've got some really compelling technology and and design challenges that are going to be lots of fun to tackle.

We’re currently forming our core team and we’d love to talk to you if you’re excited about:

• helping Canadians to live better

• being an early employee of a well funded startup

• solving problems in creative ways

• using developer friendly languages and frameworks such as Ruby, Elixir, Ember and React

Please PM me if interested and I can’t wait to hear from you!

Probably was referring to the naming of private mode on these browsers?

Which 2011 MBP do you have? We have 4 of our 15" 2011 MBPs fixed by Apple for free under the recall without any issues.

Re:Anvil - a Mac app for Pow on Sunday October 07, 2012 @07:47PM (#4624833)
Pow is great - except when you need to fall back on debugging multiple apps. Even with powder it's flaky at best.

If Google had the guts to pull out of China, why not threaten to pull out of US?

A lot of media have compared SOPA to the Great Firewall of China. While they are quite different in my opinion (and not the point of this post), I wonder why Google doesn't threaten to pull out of US because of SOPA. Google could then ignore this non-sense and find the "Hong Kong" of United States (maybe Canada?), and recreate the free web there.Maybe we can get enough sites behind this to send...

Exactly, and they don't - it does return a random location when I put in a random user_id (they simply expose a user object in the global space with all sorts of attributes in it). They totally upped Apple's "Find My Friends" with this "Find My Strangers" site.
This is horrible, yet from Canada's largest(?) wireless carrier??

Checkout: https://www.rogersphonefinder.com/javascripts/conf.js https://www.rogersphonefinder.com/javascripts/fq.js

and you can bypass all the business logic, including checking someone's location I think.

Did I mention that they store your password in plaintext in a cookie? #facepalm

Thanks for all the comments so far! We will be rethinking the backgrounds / design in the next iteration and definitely will improve the typeface.

Re:Show HN: Quotica - A beautiful way to collect quotes. on Thursday May 05, 2011 @09:54PM (#2519706)
Thanks for the comments! The homepage isn't a good landing page at all. We're working on a video to show off the site a bit more, and will soon put the most popular quotes on the homepage to get people taste the site better.

Agree with the sign-in part. We're using Django (perhaps should have picked rails) and that's the default settings. We will rectify that issue soon. Thanks again for the feedback!
