Re:TailwindCSS v2.0 on Wednesday November 18, 2020 @04:15PM (#25142530)
For someone who really wants to learn CSS from scratch, is it a bad idea that I start learning CSS by using tailwind?

I am mostly a backend dev and trying to learn UI dev since I need it for some side projects.

So cool! Mind sharing what tech you used to build this?
Was going to update today, I guess I am going to be on my current 10.15.2 for a long time. 10.15.2 is quite stable and runs smooth enough with occasional freezes happening maybe once a month.

Give me time and I'll tell you at the end how much money you need to give me.
Re:My Startup Failed, So We Open-Sourced the Tech on Sunday February 23, 2020 @10:21AM (#22397194)
This is so true. The key to building something that succeeds in the longer term is because you are providing value to the market.

Using shiny/new tech is just complementary, and might even come back to bite you later on.

1. Being a good listener. 2. Patience. 3. Agreeing to disagree, and not taking it personally.
Re:Flutter: UI platform designed for ambient computing on Wednesday December 11, 2019 @01:46PM (#21765481)
Is building plugins faster/easier than building apps (using Flutter)? Looking to learn flutter so wondering if I should build a plugin or app when going beyond hello world.

Ask HN: Why aren't wireless screens/monitors available yet?

I have 2 screens connected to my computer at work in addition to my charger coupled with adapters and what not (MBP so all USB C). Dangling all those cables got me wondering why and if/when will we have wireless screens so that we can practically be wire-free and can move around/connect to other desks seamlessly.

Pretty clever wording by Uber here, I'd say. Although does not make sense to me.

This is so unexpected coming from a company like Apple, I am thinking this is Apple's version of April fool's this year.

I have a lot of friends in the tech industry in Montreal and this does not seem to be true at all.

You maybe top of your class but for recent graduates to earn that kind of money is unheard of.

AFAIK, Amazon's privacy policy does NOT allow you to do web scraping from their website. Read the policy carefully.

I recently built a Yoga Subscription Box service with my girlfriend called https://www.namaslaybox.com/

We are both programmers and she always wanted to do something like this so gave it a shot..It's been successful so far and we are starting to see a rise in orders.

Like a lot of people here, we started from scratch. No mentors, no prior experience. Worked on it weeknights and weekends.
