I would love to, when they are available in EU.
I’ve been trying vanilla Codex with remote control running on a MacBook 24/7. Computer use enabled, browser with logged in sites. Giving it tasks from my phone.
It’s been nice overall, but Astra (or its harness?) isn’t particularly proactive and autonomous. You have to kick it in the butt for every step. Written it up here: https://ivan.berlin/notes/chatgpt-personal-assistant/
Looking forward to this new Duet thing!
What a beautiful font! Thanks so much for open-sourcing it!
Slowly reading “Seeing that Frees” by Rob Burbea.
Highly recommended if you want to challenge your view of the world.
Meetup.com is terrible and we definitely need a replacement. But this is not it.
What’s great about it? I shudder every time some product manager sends out a miro link.
People should try Kinopio.
The anthropomorphic delusion about LLMs being a coherent entity, with memory and continuity (which is also a delusion even when it comes to humans), quickly evaporates when you realize that each message in a chat is a completely separate stateless API request, and the only trick fueling the illusion is that the previous messages are sent to the server along with your new message. So AGI or not, it’s just a process that exists literally for the duration of one API request.
I've written two QA skills for our app: 1) flow discovery, and 2) e2e implementation.
The first one scans the app and detects critical flows, happy paths, unhappy paths, invariants. Writes an invariant matrix across app domains and surfaces, and maps acceptance criteria to each.
The second actually implements the flows as e2e tests (Playwright for web, Maestro for mobile). Tests are run locally before a PR is submitted, with a video recording. The video + screenshots are posted in the PR body. A rule in CLAUDE.md says "No PR w/o visual evidence!".
CI runs the suite depending on touched code.
It's nice to lay back and watch the runner click through your app.
Cute font!
Round, like we’re trending towards Comic Sans but still professional.
Looks cool!
I took a similar approach with https://runmachine.dev/ but later switched to OrbStack for iOS development.
After they acquired Meetup.com, subscription prices skyrocketed while nothing useful was added to the product.
29€ a month just to host a meetup page with RSVPs.
Can the same engine be extended to Pali for Buddhist suttas?
I've looked into replacing Lima with Apple Containers for
https://runmachine.dev.
However, unlike Lima, an Apple Container is not a full VM, so you cannot SSH to it, or forward SSH-agent signatures into a machine.
So it's more of a devcontainer story, which is also a great use case. Nice to see Apple creating tooling around their VZ framework.
Edit: referential clarity.

Hi all!I realized it’s really not secure to run coding projects directly on my Mac. All the NPM hacks recently, especially with agentic coding — you’re always one npm install away from a disaster. So I’ve built a small CLI called machine that starts a Lima VM for each of your projects. It supports declarative “profiles” which are like package.json for your VM. The default profile comes with...
Probably more like モンメン (Cottonee).
Interesting! So you just create an all-day event with a note in the description? Never thought about that.
Fixed the bug + added the option to restore empty notes from local DB. It might not restore your note (apologies for that!) but this should never happen again.
Thanks! Yes, “this day a year ago” would be cool! The app has only existed since January this year so I’ll look into it next year. :)
Assuming the user still has access to their browser, the data would be still accessible locally (and I’m planning to add an export function too).
Export is my todo #1. Cheers!
Paper notebooks certainly have their place. It’s the same debate as paper books vs e-readers. I personally don’t like how my handwriting looks and also don’t want to carry more things around.
On my to do list! Thank you!
Thanks for this larger-scale observation!
I personally always feel a bit like a Lovecraft character writing those entries. :)
You can start using it right away without a password (it will generate a random one and use it only once to encrypt a DEK key). Once you create an account with a password, it re-encrypts your DEK and uploads it to Supabase (encrypted).
Later on you only need to enter your password again if you sign out and want to sync with other devices.
I tried ProseMirror and Tiptap but typing in both felt slower than a vanilla contenteditable. Maybe it’s just a placebo effect. Also I’m trying out various experimental enhancements like if you type “+meditation” and press Enter, it will create a labeled section for you. Perhaps I should try CodeMirror as elxr suggested.
Ah, good point. I didn’t think about that. Good solution to make it rolling! I’ll look into it closer to the end of the year to self-test how both feel.
Thanks for the feedback!
I can see how the month widget can be not useful in the editor view. I’ll add an option to show only the editor and to remember that choice.
