Re:Ask HN: Is using Google Suite considered detrimental? on Monday November 21, 2022 @05:19AM (#33690935)
Currently, I have 7 email addresses, and now I am leaning towards maintaining only 2 email addresses, 1st for my primary communications needs (the one with my domain), and 2nd as the back-up/secondary address for communications with my domain registrar, email service provider, and other such systems.

You may call it laziness or being bratty, but, honestly, I am really tired of having more than 1 email address for my online identities.

Also, the Google Suite charges for a single mailbox are quite affordable, and given the add-on features like SPAM protection and large mailbox size, are very desirable.

Ask HN: Is using Google Suite considered detrimental?

I have been using a feature-phone for 10 years and am now considering purchasing an inexpensive Android smartphone, and for the same I am thinking of attaching my only email address using my domain name to a Google Suite account. Primarily for the apps by Google (Gmail, Maps and GPay), but also for WhatsApp (all my contacts have it now and they're haranguing me about it). Are there any inherent...

Thanks. I'll work through Calculus too. Hope high-school Calculus (1, 2, & 3) should be good enough!
Re:How much math you need for programming (2014) on Saturday December 26, 2020 @05:12AM (#25542488)
For those programmers who are weak at math and trying to figure out just how much and what kind of math is required to get started with programming or get better at it.

An editor is an editor after all Isn't it?

Just re-starting on Lisp after a gap of 18 years. Worked on AutoLISP, now moving to Common-Lisp. Never used Emacs before, but see it being recommended by CL grey-beards. Is Emacs mandatory for CL programming? If yes, why? Shouldn't Vim with syntax-highlighting and indentation rules be good enough?
