> Students can certainly be Islamists

Where did I claim otherwise?

The 79 revolution was done by multitude of groups. Most of which did not support the ayatollah. Ayatollah still, with the help of his supporters, did end up leading the country.

So your claim I quoted is misleading. It reads as if all of the people taking part in it wanted this current situation. It is disrespectful to the people that following the revolution, opposed khomeini take power, were hunted down, went through brutal torture and some gave their life.

This is inaccurate and misleading.

The revolution was hijacked.

Various political groups that were against the monarchy did the revolution and in the months following the revolution they were hunted down, executed or assassinated.

Fair point yes.

On GCP I had AI draft a pubsub setup that would disable billing on limit reached.

It said it is the only way to have proper hard limits.

Probably need to do something similar for DO also

Learnt recently DigitalOcean does not have hard budgets limits, only emails. I am surprised and torn between this being intentional vs. them not caring.

One solution is banking apps that let you create extra cards and assigning hard limits to spending. Wise & Revolut apps can do that.

Have to mention OpenRouter also, I logged into OpenRouter through pi, on the auth screen it optionally let me set a limit which is very smart and user friendly.

You can see this is not a cyclic issue.

Or atleast not a cycle shorter than couple thousand years.

Started working on a port yesterday and got time to continue today and just saw you had the same idea. Sharing for anyone interested:

Signed extension can be downloaded from latest release page:

Have been developing and using a similar thing myself:

https://github.com/kamyar/ozm - Oberzugriffsmeister (“chief access master”)

Still some rough edges, and definitely not security audited. :)

In essence: All commands are routed through ozm, which has a per project and global allow list and block list.

Otherwise asks the user and does its best remembering what the user allowed to execute including debug/one off scripts that the agents write. If a previously allowed files was changed, it shows a diff of what changed since the last execution.

Just so you know, Apple supports requesting refund for purchases that did not meet your expectations.

Tiergarten is surrounded by government buildings, embassies, malls, big wide roads and office skyscrapers. None are "living" spaces.

I love Tiergarten, but I see the surrounding being overrun by these as why it is so underrated/unknown. Otherwise an amazing place to cycle through, chill on the grass with friends or grab a beer in Café am Neuen See.

Good.

Hope this initiative fails spectacularly.

Holy cow, did not know ios lets apps access so many finger printable information such as apps installed, last wipe and number of copy actions. Installed the browser as I am confident it will be good also.

Thank you!

Close enough stat, no apologies needed. Thank you for the link
Can you share the source for

This has been one of the best articles I have read.

Thank you for the digging that up and sharing.

I have the exact same workflow as you.

icloud works great.

Was thinking of proton but reading your comment has changed my mind, good catch-all custom domain support is a must for me.

icloud mail support custom domains.

I am using them.

Sending an email from catch-all covered email is not a big issues also, create use, delete and it still works.

I am slowly transitioning to icloud from gmail, was thinking of proton but reading the above comment made me change my mind, good custom domain support is a must for me.

This has been a life saver:

Crowd sourced in-video sponsor auto skip, I have been contributing to it myself as the UX is great.

Re:Code is a liability (not an asset) on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @07:38PM (#46520987)
Recently been thinking about the COBOL Contractors that charge huge sums to banks, airlines etc. ~76 years since its invention as the industry overall has largely moved on.

AI assisted coding (i.e. all kinds) are going to take off even further as tools with better UX/DX get developed even if LLMs de-accelerate and some of the technologies might become COBOLs of future.

Interesting times to be alive indeed.

Re:Ask HN: Worst experience receiving an offer? on Thursday July 14, 2022 @09:09PM (#32103426)
This is done partly to prevent people from using written offers as leverage to either negotiate a higher compensation at their current job or another company they are interviewing with.
Re:Coinbase Announces 18% Layoffs on Tuesday June 14, 2022 @08:55AM (#31738668)
I have seen people fired in the morning and their access cutoff by noon and them being asked to go on "gardening leave" in Europe.

This is rare but depends on your manager, if they don't want you around. You will still be paid for the remaining of your "employment" but will not be working.

Re:Ask HN: What are some great engineering blogs? on Tuesday November 16, 2021 @07:30AM (#29239761)
It is less technical and more leadership, strategy and soft skill side of engineering but https://blog.pragmaticengineer.com/ definitely deserves a mention.
Re:Why Is German Internet So Bad on Friday November 05, 2021 @02:39PM (#29123164)
Software side also does not look bright, France is doing much better innovative tech than Germany.

Swiss, Dutch and Swedes are all also doing much better imho.

Not sure about articles but I can recommend Crypto Kittens Tutorial[1].

It has been some time since I did it(Late 2018 I think), but was really informative to get the mindset and different constraints people deal with in smart contract world.

Re:Missing line in a smart contract leads to $10M hack on Sunday May 16, 2021 @05:05PM (#27177009)
Not an expert in solidity but from my limited experience EVM and smart contracts have really different approach when it comes to computation.

two things that come to my mind:

- There is really no random() function due to need for determinism

- Space vs. Time complexity is distorted, the gas you pay for instruction vs. byte is really different economics compared to AWS EC2 instance/hour etc.
