Re:Show HN: macOS menu bar gauges for your Claude Code quota on Wednesday June 10, 2026 @08:06AM (#48475065)
I wanted the same thing and recently saw this blog post on how to customize the bottom status bar: https://www.aimhuge.com/blog/claude-code-status-line.

I now show my current context window, five-hour quota, weekly quota, current branch and current PR.

It's quite handy!

I am a product-minded software engineer who has a proven track record of building solutions that deliver value to customers. Raised millions in funding, secured multiple exits, and effective across the entire stack. I speak product, design, and engineering. I've led product implementations from end-to end, from customer interviews and design through implementation and ongoing support and maintenance. One day I'm refactoring a fat model into separate classes, the next day I'm pushing pixels on the UI side.

I specialize in going from 0 to product market fit and beyond. Looking to join a team with a solid product where I can wear many hats. Let's chat!

Render has been a great heroku replacement. I thought I would miss the “add-ons marketplace” but it’s actually been fine. Costs are reasonable for our startup and they seemed to have fixed their odd Cloudflare downtimes of the past.

Rescale Supply || Software Engineer || REMOTE (USA only) || Full-time || ~$140k

The world of CPG and food manufacturing is both fascinating and complex. Today, when a new food brand starts to take off (think “startup” but for something like a hot sauce), they spend 12-18 months establishing a partnership with a manufacturer to produce their product at scale. The pain point is so high, they typically pay consultants $60k to solve the problem. Our cofounder (former Dir of Ops @ Trader Joes) did this as a consultant and now we are turning her expertise into software. We are building a mix of a marketplace + Turbotax style functionality to bring automation and scalability to the industry. With great traction and paying customers, we just closed a $2M seed round.

We are now ready and excited to bring on our first engineer. As part of an early-stage company, you’ll have real and tangible impact on the business and our users. Along with our CTO, you will write code and ship product to a growing number of paying customers. We prioritize a developer-friendly environment by being remote first, having low infrastructure/configuration overhead, autonomy in your work, and getting rid of webpack. As with any startup, product requirements and direction can change. And we strive to always provide clarity around “what did we learn” + “how that changes our thinking”. We feel the added transparency and sense of ownership results in keeping us closer to our customers and delivers a better end product.

----

Ideal requirements

  * A love for Ruby on Rails
  * Rspec or Minitest
  * View Components
  * Tailwind
  * Hotwire (Turbo & Stimulus)
  * Postgres
  * Bonus: payments integration experience (like Stripe), accounting systems integration (like Quickbooks), or fintech experience (like lending)
We have a fully remote team and culture, including: home office setup stipend and optional bi-weekly in-person (Boston area) working days for local candidates.

Working at Rescale will just be a job, but we want it to be the best job you ever have. If you are excited to make real impact on a growing business, we’d love to chat with you.

The go to place seems to be Acquire.com. I've had some success on both side of the equation.
Re:Ask HN: Suggestions for Meeting Co-Founders on Monday November 13, 2023 @11:20PM (#38259112)
I've chatted with many people through YC's co-founder matching [1] and found it to be one of the better concentrations of smart, resourceful, serious people. I actually started companies with two of them. Definitely recommend!

Re:Ask HN: Founders, how much automated tests do you write? on Saturday February 18, 2023 @09:09AM (#34847031)
I pretty much have the same strategy. We mostly want to ensure that crucial functionality doesn’t break for users. Since we are moving fast, we try not to break things.

Ghost Inspector used to be my go to, but I’ve been looking for something in the $20-30 per month range. Makes it a much easier decision when we aren’t yet collecting much revenue.

You can use the "Make spoken audio from" and "play audio file" actions available to Shortcuts. I was able to get it to play from the Mac dock using this method.

Just a waitlist for now it seems.

We've also done this on our team (we labeled them lightning talks), and people really enjoyed them. It also helps to get to know one another on a slightly deeper, non-work way without crossing boundaries.

33 minutes and counting. First time I've seen this personally. But my heroku-hosted site is still humming along.

Maybe have them take a photo of the specific page of the book? Like the one with the copyright and publishing info? At least then it’s some indication that they have the book.

You could scale up a bit using mTurk and the OCR to verify.
