I have had Prii since 2001 (back when it was a sedan). Had good experience with them until recently: 2011 prius with 110K miles had to have it's engine replaced. Decided to do that instead of getting another car because anecdata tells me this was an aberration.

Re:Ask HN: How do you familiarize yourself with a new codebase?
on Friday June 26, 2015 @09:30AM (#9784146)
I usually skim the code to get an idea of patterns and organization, get it working in a local environment and then run/step-through the code. This usually gives a good idea of what different pieces do.
Re:“Thank You” in Hindi and English Mean Very Different Things
on Tuesday June 09, 2015 @09:22AM (#9685721)
India is a more hierarchical society in general, and one doesn't feel the need to thank the servile class for services rendered. Outside family and close circle of friends, a "thank you" can lubricate social interactions.
