Author here!

Yes, totally right. There was a bunch i wanted to write about Adobe. Both XD and the current moves they've made with CC etc. But had to cut because too much--so hopefully will have an essay entirely on Adobe coming at some point

This is really fantastic reply and context. Thanks for posting this!

When you see research like this, assuming all things trend positive (big if of course) what is the timeframe one expects to see it make its way to mainstream application?

Can't reveal product without their permission.

But know of 1 person company that generates $500k revenue per year and gets its customers via SEO.

Re:Beepi Winding Down After Burning Through $150M on Friday February 17, 2017 @04:23AM (#13667002)
Yup. People sometimes use ARR to mean multiple things. Previous poster was referring to run-rate which likely was the run rate for GMV--versys ARR which I assume you mean as annual revenue

Yes, but would be tough, since how could you guarantee you deleted the data you stole
Re:Snapchat Seeks to Raise as Much as $4B in IPO on Wednesday October 26, 2016 @04:31PM (#12800183)
Uber does not need the amount of money it raises because of vehicle automation. That's a relatively tiny portion of their spend.

Don't Think Twice is a fantastic movie. Highly recommend it
Think they mean the company was hiring one person. Not that they were looking for an unmarried person.
Re:Why Uber Won on Saturday April 23, 2016 @03:44PM (#11557100)
Don't think this article disagrees with most of your statements. The leverage of money is cyclical--so it's not incongruous that at different time periods the profile of growth vs profitability focus of startups funded varies.
Re:Jet.com raises $500M from Fidelity at $1B pre on Wednesday November 04, 2015 @01:17PM (#10508422)

Re:Merch by Amazon on Thursday October 01, 2015 @07:41PM (#10315591)
Many streamers/ esports teams / etc make good portion of their money from selling merch.
Re:Shoelace knots on Friday September 11, 2015 @01:08PM (#10204833)
Wish he would also put how easy they are to untie. I've realized that the ideal knot is optimizing not just how secure the knot is and how fast to tie it. But also how fast to untie it, which is often anti-correlated with how secure it is.
This is great. I wish it was a more of a thing in our society for people to keep their letters as well as create oral histories.

Could you elaborate on creating access?
Re:On doing things other people can't on Friday August 28, 2015 @03:54PM (#10137524)
On the last point of passing it on. The key is to find secrets with network effects on awareness. Secrets that degrade in utility as more people know them are the weakest form. Stronger are those that get better as more know them. Even stronger are those that accrue even more value when you explain to people it gets stronger as it spreads.
Proliferation of SPVs. Retail will get in on it. Eventually will spread to non AAA deals. Private market bust.
Re:Why I Defaulted on My Student Loans on Monday June 08, 2015 @11:51AM (#9679846)
No statement on whether this should be true or not.

But the reason it was started was because students didn't have the credit history to get loans at all--especially since the thought was they had no credit to lose so they would be incentivized to just default immediately after graduating.

Which is why student loans were made non-defaultable, to make a market for student loans possible.

Re:Facebook Visual Identity on Wednesday May 13, 2015 @08:58PM (#9542923)
At FB scale, a very small percentage change in user engagement/behavior/etc is very meaningful.

So guessing it does--but wouldn't necessarily extrapolate it to what small startups should do.
