Interesting! never heard of this before, even google seem to bring up mongodb answers as default. Have you used this in production? Care to share your experiences?

What is the ORM/Driver that anyone here would suggest to go with Express/Node.js while working with postgres?

Also, any libraries similar to ruby gem "apartment" that would make multitenancy with postgres easier in node.js world?

Re:Updated RailsCasts Status on Monday September 02, 2013 @11:05AM (#6315473)
Take your time Ryan! Not sure what exactly that you are going/went through. But your style and topics you covered were/are still unparalleled and sorely missed in the Rails world.

Ryan, if you are reading these: You have been doing Rails stuff for quite a while now. If you think, its getting repetitive and not challenging enough, it might not be a bad idea to diversify the screen casts away from Rails. Node, golang or anything that ignites the keen learner in you. I am sure you will do a great job making those technologies accessible to the uninitiated. Of course Ryan knows best :)

Re:Plotagon – Make a movie by just writing a story on Sunday September 01, 2013 @12:03PM (#6310875)
There was an earlier post on HN few months ago that talked about a tool or similar that help write formulaic scripts and in fact being used pervasively (iirc) in Hollywood. Anyone remember it? Might be a good fit to go with this?
Re:Microsoft and Google to sue over US surveillance requests on Saturday August 31, 2013 @08:55AM (#6306712)
I just had a conference call with one of the clients on a project which he wanted to talk about. He wasnt very keen to share the docs on the google(he is into NDA and all that), but he was okay sharing that on Skype because skype is peer to peer. The point is everyone who matters enough knows about what was going on to make enough impact on the business of these tech companies. They may not be on the street demanding, but they are mulling over the consequences and alternatives regardless.
Unfortunately until coinbase support non-US banks, we could only watch and sigh! :)

How to create UI framework agnostic Website/Application

I started using UI framework when I was first introduced to skeleton to help with responsive behavior and stuff. Then I moved to Bootstrap as I felt it offered little more than skeleton. Now I like Zurb's Foundation and its features. Though what stops me from easily (or relatively easily) switching across different framework is I add the framework specific styles to the code itself, like css...

Re:Convert Twitter Boostrap to a "flat" design on Sunday June 23, 2013 @08:59AM (#5927403)
I stumbled up on this while looking for Bootstrap 3.0 demo. http://bs3.codersgrid.com/ And the design does follow flat design principles
Would like to see something that help inspect events bound to DOM elements. i remember there was a script/plugin called liveevent but that has been plagued with issues of late and kinda stopped working for me.
always struggle trying anything related to drag n drop on my ubuntu 12.10, because the moment i drag a file on nautilus the entire sets of apps get disabled on my unity sidebar except firefox and nautilus. and even firefox doesn't open so basically am stuck :(
Re:Stripe Checkout on Friday January 18, 2013 @12:41PM (#5079869)
Just confirming, this is the same solution that was earlier published as Stripe Button right?

>> You had been blacklisted before that, because your nuclear weapons pissed off the world (don't blame the world).

Yeah Right, Its perfectly alright for us to have nuclear weapons but not others because they are irresponsible and undeserving (Hiroshima and Nagasaki anyone?)

Re:I conceal my identity the same way Aaron was indicted for on Wednesday January 16, 2013 @10:33AM (#5067200)
Why should we even be trying to sugarcoat what he did? His intention was right but perhaps means weren't and thats how every rebel goes about doing their stuff. They aren't too much concerned about "confirming", and ,duh, not for nothing they are a rebel. The moment the society and the government start treating A Rebel With a Cause for the means they take than read the message they are trying to convey, it invariably shows the rot in the system. A system that doesnt like mirror being shown at. Lets please stop finding reasons for Aaron's action, instead lets accept what he did was not confirming to the system, we also need people who question and challenge the system not just those who confirms!
Congrats guys! Looks great from the specs. Any thoughts on architecting for multitenancy?
Re:Ruby 2.0.0-preview1 is out on Friday November 02, 2012 @12:57AM (#4731299)
Not sure if RVM typically supported the preview releases. It would be nice if it did though.
Re:Ruby 2.0.0 feature freeze on Wednesday October 24, 2012 @10:08PM (#4696025)
Thats great! Hope this will work on 1.9.3p286 as well?
Re:Stripe in Canada on Thursday September 20, 2012 @09:19PM (#4551711)
Great News! Have couple of questions though, 1. What are the PCI implications if I were to use stripe.js in my site? Will I have to get my application and deployment stack PCI verified?

2. I will have customers from both US and Europe, so what is the ideal approach to support multi currency so that customers end up paying the same (or close to same) price that they saw on my website?

Re:EC2 Reserved Instance Marketplace on Wednesday September 12, 2012 @01:17PM (#4511739)
Looking at the pricing on the amazon site here: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/#lightUtilizationRILinux

does it mean Small (Default) linux server only cost $69 for a whole year? likewise $138 for a medium instance for whole year?

The SaaS application that I am building will have multiple customers pointing to a load-balancer(still deciding EBS vs other options) and I am still figuring out how to get the ssl part of it set up. I like your point on keeping ELBs as the SSL end point. I haven't been able to find a definite resource explaining this. Is there anything that can be shared?
