Reminds me of Black Mirror Season 3e6. It's all fine until you mess up and piss off the mob.

Thanks, I hadn't yet made it through the full thread for context.

Gary Larson agrees. Sorry, I couldn't find a better image. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/8KjQYFOjfafGpGLFpwnwxFq4_c...

This sounds like the person was punished for being sick and then having kids. Am I reading this wrong?

Re:Show HN: A stream of AI-generated art on Sunday February 16, 2020 @09:23PM (#22345085)
I wonder, based on your comment, what the output would look like if the training was inverted. Anything that looks like art would skew towards zero, for instance.
Re:When Your Used Car Is a Little Too ‘Mobile’ on Thursday February 06, 2020 @08:59PM (#22262533)
Helpfully, my state will allow you to search tax records by VIN or name.
Re:When Your Used Car Is a Little Too ‘Mobile’ on Thursday February 06, 2020 @08:50PM (#22262493)
In my area, the VIN is also easy to find with just a name from the public-facing tax property website.

And not to forget Opie from the Andy Griffith show
Thanks for this. I was planning to try this from a similar background. I am glad to know it is at least possible...
Wouldn't the intentional smearing of feces over someones carpet throughout their home qualify as vandalism?
Re:Aphantasia: 'My mind's eye is blind' on Wednesday April 10, 2019 @08:21AM (#19623880)
To me its almost like I have two separate canvases. One that my eyes render to and an 'offscreen' canvas my mind renders to. I can access both, but they don't overlap.
Re:10 PRINT CHR$(205.5+RND(1)); : GOTO 10 (2012) on Tuesday March 26, 2019 @05:39AM (#19490336)
I snickered at first but couldn't stop imagining ways to implement this. Thanks for giving me something to kickstart my brain today.
I run a script that moves any email to to the trash that does not come from a list of approved domains. I have toyed with the idea of setting up a catch all domain to do the same as you, but keep finding excuses not to proceed. How much time to you spend on administration for your solution?
Re:DNS Zombies (2016) on Saturday July 21, 2018 @08:14AM (#17581742)
I don't believe so. I wrote a browser plugin that would ping a time based DNS entry similar to what the article does in order to alarm if someone was inspecting my traffic and show from where. I have seen hits from Singapore and other locations. Sometimes it's a web filtering vendor or other security tools company-- days or weeks later. Sometimes I can't determine who the source is and avoid using that network in the future.
Re:Are Flat-Earthers Being Serious? on Thursday July 12, 2018 @08:55AM (#17513907)
I personally know one. Conversations about the topic are impossible. His arguments for the earth being flat are made of half truths and broken logic. Any debate brands you as a NASA shill. He doesn't believe the earth orbits the sun.

I have had doubts as to whether he actually believes and just uses this to make money off of his semi-successful youtube channel.

Re:PayPal told customer her death breached its rules on Tuesday July 10, 2018 @01:59PM (#17500593)
If a person takes out a loan to buy a car then the financing company actually holds the title to the vehicle. You can't give away something you don't own.
Executives should go to prison for not staffing call centers properly?
This makes me wonder how many other APIs rely solely on obscurity to protect major features.
I used to do this. I once ran across a prod HRC VPN subdomain and got myself banned from r/netsec.

I have felt this for a long time but have lacked the ability to put this feeling into words. Thank you for doing what I could not.
Re:Bike Share Oversupply in China on Monday April 30, 2018 @04:49PM (#16962198)
True, but at least food decomposes a little faster than the bicycles.
Re:Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on Thursday April 26, 2018 @05:49PM (#16936183)
Yeah the images must still be distributing. Some hits still show beta but go away after a refesh.
I didn't downvote you, but I believe I understand why folks got upset. It appears that you are taking a passive aggressive dig at all religions because the parent comment referenced a Christian biblical verse (1 Timothy 6:10). While this usually isn't an issue here, the comment appears unrelated to the main conversation and may be seen as trolling.

I could be wrong.
