Re:Poll: Facebook usage
on Sunday September 25, 2011 @07:51PM (#3037100)
seems to me people who use facebook a lot do it bec it's a status thing: they have to be in on the latest trend, they have to be in on the latest tech. just the same with people who just have to have the latest gadgets... it's all very superficial

Re:Ask HN: App Store marketing strategies?
on Tuesday June 14, 2011 @12:07AM (#2651755)
+1 i sure would also like to know more insights here...
i have an app too (not in the app store, but in macupdate, http://bit.ly/ipaUfI and some other sites that publish for free). to support it i created a quick 1 page site, registered a domain and emailed a few writers from design/mac-centric sites i go to. after a week though i can say that it doesn't seem to be working, still no coverage and only getting crumbs of feedback.
Re:How I Use Twitter

if your on a Mac, check out my new app, Twit Justice. It uses OS X Speech Synthesis to say tweets that you follow.
It's like verbalize(http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/audio/verbalize.html) but for twitter.
grab it here: http://twitjustice.org
Re:Ask HN: From programmer to painter
on Monday May 30, 2011 @09:12PM (#2600916)
i studied fine arts majoring in painting. i love the arts in general, but somehow i also got discontented by doing things that does nothing but hang there. and that's why i ended up as a programmer now, to do stuff that works. i still continue doing art-related stuff though.
