  Email:[email protected]
I've had the opportunity to work as a founding engineer at multiple companies, where I've been involved in building and scaling platforms from scratch. At PreFix Inc., I led the backend development of our home maintenance platform, working as the sole backend engineer early on. I played a key role in scaling the customer base, integrating critical systems like Zendesk, Stripe, and HubSpot, and developing our business intelligence platform to enable data-driven decision-making. I also helped expand the engineering team and contributed to major partnerships, including a successful pilot program with a large insurance company, and the many security, privacy and data handling challenges that entails.

Before that, at Ruckit, I was part of the founding team where we developed a collaborative logistics platform that scaled the company to over $2M in monthly revenue. I managed a distributed team of engineers, drove third-party integrations, and helped position the company for acquisition by Command Alkon.

Now it's time for something new. You can checkout my CV/resume linked above for lots more details, and please reach out with any interesting opportunities.

Hi, I'm JC. I've been in working with a variety of startups in the Austin tech scene for 14+ years. Mainly dealing with backend API development, but also everything else required to develop and host modern web applications. I was the founding engineer for Ruckit. I grew the engineering team from just me, to a team of 10+ people, and was able to deliver a product that was responsible for the successful exit of the company. https://www.thomabravo.com/press-releases/command-alkon-acqu...

I've been doing the same thing for PreFix Inc. Growing the team and developing the product. https://www.prefixinc.com/our-team?

I've also been a Python instructor for General Assembly https://generalassemb.ly/instructors/juan-carlos-ferrer/1148...

And a long time ago I was doing a lot more hardware hacking https://www.theverge.com/2014/3/8/5483774/the-cupid-drone-st...

I'm looking for a new challenge. See my email in the about section, and let's chat.

Re:Ask HN: Server colocation on Thursday October 28, 2010 @12:06AM (#1841678)
I would just keep renting VPS/EC2 machines, but I really need high RAM machines. 8-16GB, and I already have the boxes here, and I just want to get them online 24/7.
Re:Ask HN: A cheap netbook for development? on Wednesday October 27, 2010 @10:39PM (#1841467)
I recommend an X series thinkpad. x40 although X60 and up would be ideal. It'll be in the $300-600 range used, and lightyears better than what any netbook would offer

Ask HN: Server colocation

What are some good cheap providers? I have a few EC2 machines, but I also have a few personal boxes sitting around that I would like to get online.Anything in the $50 range that will take a mini tower? Or will I be stuck with 1U of space?

I got that watch for Xmas 1995. When I was 7. I guess because it's the cheapest "name brand" watch. And it's basically kid proof.

I used to have my own fancy screen script, but now "byobu" does everything I need.
Yup. Crashes on iPad.
