All that really will matter is how the government and courts see it. Those words will be used in court.

I haven't played with nim for a few months, but only parameters with var will get mutated. I suspect you want to use someone else's cursed function and don't want to poison your blessed code

Price gouging is the free speech equivalent of yelling fire in a full movie theater. You are harming people for your own enjoyment.

In bigger projectd and groups people need structure. If you're goal is provide success and structure for the people involved you can't let other people's lack of structure hurt everyone else. I think the "Kind of a Dick" is more of a cultural shock issue. You can be pleasant, but also blunt and honest about what needs to be done.

I think that individuals might have more likely personally survived the trauma of rape. So it more likely going to be an asshole thing to say.
It'd be like, "We're gonna smash the competition so hard they have PTSD." to room where 30% are Iraqi war vets likely insulting to some of them.

"If someone is the best jailer in the world would it not be reasonable to reward them?"
I mean if we're gonna bring up this anology we've gotta figure out what a "best failer in the world" even means? What is the value the jailer creates? How do define a high performance jailer over just a nominal performant jailer? If there is no extra value produced by the best jailer in the world then we are over paying the best jailer in the world.

I think you miss the point of the quote. He was basically telling the interviewer his question was stupid. Yes. In the 24th century they can grow hair on a bald man's head, but they're not gonna judge him if he doesn't. Just like no one gives a fuck if Van Diesel or Dwayne Johnson doesn't have haie.
