> My original comment did not blame immigrants for anything; rather it discussed the result of the EUs immigration policy
What do you think the word blame means
I love all these people spending money and tearing apart their TVs instead of changing their WiFi password and not giving the new one to it
> Was this process "moderation"?
That’s up to you. Do you go around saying “I like posting on LWN. I’m a big LWN poster. That’s where I do my best posts”? If so you probably already call the staff there “da mods” and wouldn’t need clarification.
> what you write on Stack Overflow is not a "post" in the first place
Yes it is. That website is overflowing with posts. It’s almost entirely posts aside from the bits you use to navigate between the posts.
> Would you use that term for a Wikipedia article?
I am receiving news that mods have taken to moderating more than just posts nowadays. They are moderating chat messages and wiki pages, and I’m being told that some of them have even confusingly decided to call themselves “admins,” it is a site to behold
Trying to figure out if you’re talking about users or admins here
> actions of the community (what we call "curation")
You know that users are going to call anything that happens to their posts on any website “moderation” right, and after decades of that being the norm that’s what the word means
> saves my brainpower for situations that truly need it.
Like posting on hacker news?
> This should be an embarrassing moment for the r/seattle mods, but I somewhat doubt it will be.
Imagine the shame of blocking the spread of malware before attempting to appease somebody that’s falsely accusing of you hysterics.
Every day I wake up and shake my head that another mod on the internet did something without my, the Grand Regent of Online, say so
Could’ve forgotten to say “make no mistakes”
> Now replace wealth with intelligence, and mercantilism with cognitive mercantilism
I love when it’s clear somebody wrote “Write an intelligent blog post that sounds smart. Reference this book and AI. Make no mistakes.” to a chat bot
Our law enforcement heroes are trained to tactically “take shelter” but when one does so strategically it is branded a “crime”
Who is to say he wasn’t in fear for his life when he stole the house? Maybe the house committed a crime and he was detaining it. Civilians just don’t know the challenges faced by our boys in blue
cowlevel is saying that they know what a down payment is but also thinks that you can’t buy a house that costs more than the amount of money you have in the bank
That he is being prosecuted for this is a sad example of why officers need stronger qualified immunity for snap decisions made in the line of duty
“Protections against compelled speech are for numbskulls” I write, sweat dripping from my brow “Extortion is good you idiot, read a book” and the crowd goes wild. Michelangelo wipes the tears from his eyes and begins chiseling my face onto Mount Genius
“To be clear, you’re saying something that’s impossible to infer from what you wrote because I made it up?” lmao
Why would they try to run a real business when they can publish blogs about how spooky the product is and then live out the plot of the 1994 film Blank Check
“Journalists are in charge of headlines” I say as I smooth out my sash that says “News Expert” on it, “I read that online”
Super Smash Bros is canon
> use our patent on it to prevent anyone else from making one in the future
lmao “In lieu of direct sales we will be recouping the cost of our hammer-as-a-stalking-accessory patent through litigation”
“It all makes sense if you think of politicians like your mom and dad” lol
> I expect more businesses will transition to this strategy to counter NYC's new rule
Pretty sure the other businesses that can afford to openly despise their customers to a comical degree already do stuff like that
On the one hand, piracy is good, but on the other hand, so is slowing down anybody googling AI upscaled copies of Stargate
You think people didn’t have indoor cats or little dogs before 2016?
Like people didn’t have indoor cats or little dogs, the Olympics in Rio happened, and then indoor cats and little dogs became a thing?
Why would I keep asking about Soviets after you clarified that you meant Russian propaganda in your first response?
I’m no communist infiltration expert or anything but do you have something to support your assertion other than suggesting people read “How to Parent Like A Bolshevik”?
I’m not sure that rhetorical device functions the way that you think it does
> At least we don't eat these ones.
What?
So it is communist infiltration of the variety where there were no communists and there was no infiltration, just somebody read a book or whatever and then wrote about it?
