How is this different than the O'Reilly guide?
In the end, I think productized consulting is simply a way to charge less...for the same amount of work (out of guilt, maybe?)

Cool! Slave labor and/or illegal minimum wage violations. Sounds like a great company.

Only an asshole company would do this to a future employee. And only an asshole would allow themselves to be exploited like this.

Guys: work on contract. Get paid. Your lack of self-esteem affects everyone else in the workforce trying to earn a living. Don’t sell yourself--or your peers--short.

Learning to program is always an option for anyone with an internet connection. It beats spending six years and $100,000 on a sociology Masters and then stocking shelves like the women in the article.

Speaking of which, these characters kinda deserve their fates by choosing such pointless career paths. Hopefully others will learn from their mistakes.

At that point, what will they have to lose?

They also don't know how.

You're being ridiculous.

Employers have stopped hiring excessive numbers of people to sit of their asses because companies can now get get more work for less pay from their young, bright employees, as well as outsource and automate other tasks with software.

Bottom line: today, there are simply too many educated potential laborers to expect jobs to keep up with demand.

You could always test your emails.

Yesterday, I found this service: http://www.yesware.com while reading Neil Patel's post on email outreach: http://quicksprout.com/2012/12/07/the-link-builders-guide-to... .
