Show HN: Watson – email finder with waterfall enrichment

https://www.usewatson.com/

Hey friends, I built a B2B email finder tool with waterfall enrichment. That means you can upload a list of prospects (name + company) and the tool searches through hunter.io, apollo, dropcontact and other email finder tools to find their email address. That way you can be sure the email is found (or cannot be found in a GDPR compliant way).Quick demo:...

Show HN: Airteams – marketplace for vetted overseas talent

https://www.airteams.co/

When I bootstrapped my first startup, we had very little money to spend on hiring employees - so we ended up hiring a lot of remote talent in the Philippines (saved us approx. 60-70% in salaries).I was pretty blown away by how high quality the people were. So I built my newest venture in this space. For some reason, large corporates have been using overseas talent for decades, but SMBs and...

I just shot you an email
Having been one of those drones, I can attest that it will be very popular. :D

Thanks!

It's definitely a grey zone. I am definitely keeping all tech employees' info private, nothing is displayed on the site.

If it becomes large, I imagine big tech companies would try to fight it, but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.

For now, I'm verifying them via their work email.

So far, I've gotten decent feedback from my former colleagues and friends in big tech. Most of them take some sort of compensation for helping restore Insta / ad accounts - this is just a more direct way.

Show HN: Pls Fix – Hire big tech employees to appeal account suspensions

https://plsfix.co/

I used to work for Facebook and Google and constantly got asked questions like "Hey, my Instagram account got blocked for no reason. Could you help me get it back?". I'd say yes, it would take me 10 min to fill out an internal form and 1 week later the account was back.Even years after leaving, I still get these requests. So I built a marketplace for them. Let me know what you think!

How do companies usually hire freelancers? Do they search for them "cold" online or do they go through their network (more my experience)?

Just wondering if the directory / lead gen angle actually works.

Have you considered listing somewhere else? BitsForDigits might be a good option instead.
Re:Manhattan rents cross $5k threshold for first time on Thursday July 14, 2022 @08:09AM (#32094864)
That sounds waaay too expensive. GDP per capita is 39K USD and 18% of the population lives in Paris. How would that work?
Re:Ask HN: Is SEO still a thing in 2022? on Tuesday June 07, 2022 @03:50PM (#31659251)
Imo, SEO is still super valuable - but investing traffic that might be months (or even years) down the road of hard optimisation and content work can be put into question. To decide in your case, I would use SEO tools (SEMrush, ahrefs, there are many) and see how difficult it actually is to rank for your relevant keywords. If it is not manageable in your timeframe, there are 18 more channels (referencing Gabriel Weinberg's traction book here) you could test out before returning to SEO.
Re:Show HN: Meme creator with agile/scrum based templates on Wednesday May 18, 2022 @04:46AM (#31420538)
Pretty nice tool! Maybe it's my connection, but the memes load super slowly when selecting a template. Maybe scaling them down will help make it a bit more of a smooth experience.

Fair enough! Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to find a good lawyer :)

Ask HN: Where within Europe should we incorporate?

My co-founder and I are based in Germany and are currently evaluating in which European country we should incorporate. Maybe someone here can weigh in. We are not super happy with the process in Germany (having to go to the notary, long waiting times etc.) and taxes are so-so. Do alternatives like Ireland (low taxes) or Estonia (easy process) make sense when we would never actually move to...

Ask HN: Which bootstrappers have sold equity to take some chips off the table?

I am trying to compile a list of bootstrapped founders who have sold equity in their startup not to finance the company, but to simply pocket the cash. One example here could be the founders of Basecamp, Jason & DHH, who sold a minority stake to Jeff Bezos back in the day to make sure they have something to show for in case the business failed. There appear to be many founders of VC-backed...
