It seems like that ship has sailed, and now more technological advances are required.
Speaking from zero expertise or experience in marine biology, is it not possible to manufacture massive quantities of synthetic coral that somehow corrects for the changing water quality to enable coral life to flourish?

"... It's not really removing any password, is it? But hey, why not use the momentum ... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Also re-listened to Getting Things Done by David Allen. This could also be any number of times.
Sort-of related, currently re-watching Westworld. I burned through ten episodes in two sittings first time around and wanted to properly appreciate it this time at a more leisurely pace.
The key is to write without editing and as much as possible, without stopping to think or read.
I learnt about the practice in The Artist's Way about 3 years ago. I think this is the most up-to-date website about it: http://juliacameronlive.com/basic-tools/morning-pages/
Sometimes I'll only do one page, sometimes ten... A month or two ago I spent a month writing about 20 pages a day of "morning pages" after a few intense experiences.
After a month or so I didn't need to think about it any more, and now I can't imagine not doing it. Every morning, wake up, make coffee, write, then start the day. I find my life is richer and deeper as a result.
Even if most of its contents could be found elsewhere, the book is something of value that didn't exist before.
I've since moved on from where that book is coming from (as has he, from the sounds of things), but I still listen to the audio from time to time for inspiration and to reconnect with my 2008-self.
"The world has lost 60 percent of its population of Bornean orangutans since 1950, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature. In July, the Bornean orangutan was listed as critically endangered."
"About 15 percent of the world’s historical forest cover remains intact, according to the World Resources Institute. The rest [85%] has been cleared or degraded or is in fragments."
"Climate concerns have been brought into sharp relief by the impending presidency of Donald J. Trump, who has called climate change a hoax. Mr. Trump has said he will pull the United States out of the Paris accord, a commitment by 95 countries to take concrete measures to reduce planet-warming carbon emissions."
In all the noise of the election run, I didn't any position on controlled substances and medical research coming from Trump's side.
"IPredator was launched in 2009 as a response to a growing trend of Internet censorship, in restrictive regimes as well as so-called open societies. Our main goal is to provide a seriously non-discriminating access flatrate for the Internet."
I may be mistaken, but I believe it was built by or connected somehow with The Pirate Bay.
The basic JSON API request and response formats are unchanged since day 0, although we've added a few new features in response to customers' demands over the years.

So long, Leonard.
What do you mean by this? Is there a legal case for a rescuing vessel to commandeer the ship and cargo somehow?
Do they continue working aboard, knowing that they probably won't be paid (because the company is bankrupt)?
What's morale like? Can they leave, and how would they logistically?
What kind of laws and rights (if any) apply to them in these circumstances?
It's funny to me to be thinking about how our Christmas may be "ruined", meanwhile hundreds or thousands of workers may be out of jobs and effectively indefinitely stranded at sea.
As I was reading this article I thought of iPredator.se, which provides a non-tracked VPN service. Their USP is "We don't track anything you do". I wonder whether there could ever be a cashless option that offers a similar service. This of course would only address the concerns of privacy and profit-driven interests, and not the other serious concerns raised in the article.
Has there been/could there ever be a bank like that?
Kudos to the developers. Really lovely game, intuitive and entertaining, well-built.
I also felt their blog post was all about their journey, which while interesting doesn't really present any value for us as a customer. It would have been nice to know why the acquisition is in the customers' best interest rather than only the founders' (of course both are important).
