I signed up but you cannot generate without paying. I’m not a fan of this UX pattern. Bait and switch.
Re:A thief who stole 106 rare clocks on Tuesday April 25, 2023 @04:57PM (#35706707)
It was just a matter of time until he got caught
Re:What’s so great about functional programming anyway? on Wednesday November 16, 2022 @05:50AM (#33621209)
I came to write the same thing. Fine for reading text, not ideal for code
Re:Building an automatic chicken coop door opener on Monday November 26, 2018 @08:44AM (#18533260)
I got the sarcasm and found it highly amusing, more so with the amount of comments about egg quality!
I think competition is good however you've pretty much ripped their design including the icons!

I'm sure the implementation is different but be 'inspired' don't shamelessly clone their design.

Re:Show HN: Automatic private time tracking for OS X on Thursday May 26, 2016 @10:42AM (#11778298)
Great! The fact that this is private is a huge +1 for me. Looking forward to trying it out! I saw one of your comments on the data being available at ~/Library/Application\ Support/Qbserve/ it would be good if the schema was documented on the site, maybe in a developers section?
You're correct its definitely not a London Underground I dont think its a UK train either
Re:Dropbox closing Carousel and Mailbox on Monday December 07, 2015 @12:45PM (#10691083)
Frustrating as its still my favourite mail app. Although development has definitely slowed down (for desktop at least) over the past 6 months.
Re:Super – We’re on the hook for your home on Monday November 16, 2015 @09:15AM (#10574505)
I came across this on producthunt. It looks really interesting, although im struggling to see their business model, is this more like home insurance?
Re:Introducing the Plex Media Player on Thursday October 22, 2015 @11:02AM (#10432605)
This is exactly what I thought as well. I use Home theatre at the moment and don't have a plex pass.. does that mean I can no longer do so?
Re:Show HN: Build, run and share React Native apps in your browser on Thursday September 17, 2015 @07:11AM (#10232641)
This has come along way in the last six months! Great work guys :)
Re:Show HN: Light Bootstrap Dashboard on Tuesday September 08, 2015 @11:36AM (#10186306)
This looks really nice and the CSS is actually pretty good!

Did you write the css by hand, or did you use a preprocessor? I downloaded the code and can only see the css files.

Also you should put this on Github so others can help out with it :)

Re:Ceaser – CSS easing animation tool on Friday September 04, 2015 @09:03AM (#10170105)
I didn't know this! When was this added?
Re:What happens when you talk about salaries at Google on Tuesday July 21, 2015 @08:18AM (#9921659)
TL;DR - Erica Joy created a spreadsheet of salaries, it got shared internally at Google, apparently about 5% of total workforce filled it in.

Google has some sort of Peer Bonus scheme, Erica got lots of them but management decided to deny pretty much all of them.

She left google.

Re:Show HN: HipStat – Track Inches, Not Pounds on Friday July 17, 2015 @07:50AM (#9902269)
That would be really difficult to do as no two dresses are the same size. Same for male clothing to be honest!
Re:The Ketamine Connection on Friday July 10, 2015 @05:05AM (#9862947)
I thought this, it's widely known in the UK to be used on paediatrics. It's also something the BBC has publicised before... Weird
This would of made for a much better article. I couldn't agree more!

I'm currently working on a Hybrid React app, performance issues aside the real issue is documentation and support. As soon as you are beyond a basic web app wrapped in a container you realise quickly Corodova will always be a second class citizen.

On a more positive note React Native (https://facebook.github.io/react-native/) is mind blowingly amazing. I really can't recommend it enough, especially for Javascript developers.

Really nice work -- Is this opensource? I want to build a similar menubar application and would love to know how!
+1 I need to be able to handle 3-5 most days
I like the effects but the fact it only works with Chrome is a no-go for me. I don't see it being be too difficult to get this working in safari, firefox or modern IE..
This looks interesting. I've just build Dropbox and box integration for Matterhorn.io, The next big one is Google Drive and OneDrive.

I've only had a quick glance over the site, its a little hard to navigate but the general idea looks great. I'd love to find out more, who's the best person to contact?

Edit --

Ok, so I signed up. I really hate it when products set my password, its incredibly annoying, please don't do it.

Re:Show HN: Aqua – A website and user system (Hapi/React/Flux) on Wednesday February 18, 2015 @01:30PM (#9070094)
When I move between the pages its noticeably slow, almost like you're actually loading a new page. I thought React was supposed to be fast?
I'm loving the whole Nomad theme going around at the moment. Its made me really think about where I want to be and I have a feeling its going to be anywhere and everywhere.

What I haven't seen much of is horror stories on working remotely -- specifically from people traveling around the world. Does anyone have any links?

Re:Reapp – hybrid apps, fast on Tuesday February 10, 2015 @07:21AM (#9026693)
Hybrid in this instance means HTML wrapped in an iOS wrapper ala Phonegap.
Re:Reapp – hybrid apps, fast on Tuesday February 10, 2015 @07:21AM (#9026690)
I'm really interested in this and am keen to try it out at the weekend!

How is this going to play with react-native though? My thoughts are it may be a bit late to the party.

I'm happy to see more options available to developers, Ionic looks like a great framework but I won't use it as its built on Angular.
