I'd recommend a wireless CarPlay adapter. I bought one for my car, and it's a game-changer.
My public high school started at 7:10 a.m.; I assume it was to accommodate bus schedules.
Some notetakers filter that stuff out automatically.
Their aging population will pose an extremely serious problem in the coming decades.
Re:How Kalshi Infects the News on Monday July 06, 2026 @11:42AM (#48806243)
I was taking an Uber from Sonoma back to the Bay, and the driver was one of those people. He wouldn't stop talking about how he was spending thousands a month on rare cards, then reselling them, all the while losing money, his wife, etc.

I threw all my Alexa devices away due to that as well.
I always wondered whether my poor sense of smell dictated my diet. I share your friend's food preferences.
Because America is a lot more than a podcaster put into a position that he has no qualifications for.
Re:US economy unexpectedly sheds 92,000 jobs in February on Sunday March 08, 2026 @11:08AM (#47297927)
No idea who is buying them, but it's dropped the price of buying one by over $100K.

My mom's condo complex in Hawaii used to have many owners from Canada. Over the last year, the number of units for sale has probably 10x'd from previous years.
Re:An interactive map of Flock Cams on Wednesday March 04, 2026 @06:04PM (#47255260)
My vehicle was stolen in an area with Flock cams. It did not help at all.
100% the political campaigns pinging you is endless and you cannot escape it. I have dozens of campaigns pinging me daily and I mark them all as spam as I never signed up for this nonsense. Give me a way to block them all and remove me from their database.

Thanks for articulating exactly how I feel.
Re:State of the Windows: What is going on with Windows 11? on Monday January 26, 2026 @06:35PM (#46773288)
I have been using Tahoe since it came out, and I really don't understand all the hate on it. Some of the aesthetics are a little off, but not burdensome. The only thing I really don't like is the large, rounded corners on windows.
Re:San Francisco Graffiti on Monday January 26, 2026 @06:23PM (#46773162)
There's Clarion Alley in the heart of the Mission, which I think is open to graffiti, as everything is plastered with it, most of it looking really nice. You can see it on Street View.
Re:Data Leak Exposes 149M Logins, Including Gmail, Facebook on Sunday January 25, 2026 @07:17PM (#46760157)
Just adding plus signs and the vendor name in the address would do it.
Re:ICE using Palantir tool that feeds on Medicaid data on Sunday January 25, 2026 @07:13PM (#46760123)
It was probably a decade ago and I recall using something within Google that would tell you about who they thought you were. It profiled me as a middle eastern middle aged man or something like that which was… way off.
China is in a bad place long-term with an inevitable population decline.
It was all incredibly reckless.
Re:Homeschooling Hits Record Numbers on Friday November 21, 2025 @03:06PM (#46008368)
As the son of a teacher and a friend of several teachers, you're way underestimating their workload.
Re:Researchers discover security vulnerability in WhatsApp on Thursday November 20, 2025 @11:42AM (#45994598)
Yeah, I've had the same number since about 2001. It's nice as I've moved since then so any number that calls from my area code is definitely spam, although that's not really an issue now that my phone doesn't ring for unknown numbers.
Re:You misunderstand what it means to be poor on Friday November 14, 2025 @01:03PM (#45929661)
I had a roommate who was taking payday loans to support his brother for a while. I saw how ridiculous the interest was, paid it off for him, then had him pay me back. It got him out of the constant cycle of debt.
Re:I Want You to Understand Chicago on Saturday November 08, 2025 @05:50PM (#45860762)
I see your post and OPs just fine.
Not surprising. I have a friend who grew up in El Centro and had asthma his whole childhood. Shortly after moving, he never had respiratory issues.
I supported a lumberyard that was like this too. Also, some "modern" laser machines required ancient versions of Windows and required floppy discs. This was about 20 years ago, though.
Re:Bezos says AI is in an industrial bubble on Friday October 03, 2025 @06:05PM (#45468367)
In the late 90s to 2001? Many people were still using modems at that time. Cable or DSL wasn't even an option for a considerable percentage of the population.
Re:Watch MLB games from the comfort of your own terminal on Thursday October 02, 2025 @06:17PM (#45456267)
I scored for my son's Little League game last weekend, and it was a stressful experience. Mainly because I had never used the app before, it was also somewhat tedious, as I had to update positions every half inning. I wish it were all pre-loaded, as that would have significantly reduced my stress. It was nice being the person everyone asked what the score was all the time, as no one else was paying as close attention to the game.
That's terrible customer service and irresponsible of them. I find it wild that the bot would join without the user present.
Most of the ones built into the video conferencing solutions aren't as good.
