Congratulations
Brutally and powerfully honest and real, even in translation
Re:The Apple Watch on Wednesday September 10, 2014 @01:25PM (#8297718)
The fact that the Apple Watch doesn't do everything we can conceive combined with its visual elegance (at least in the videos) suggests to me Apple's target in this first iteration is the luxury market. I expect the athletes using those "crappy" Beats headsets will be popularizing Apple Watches to adoring fans before too long. That will give Apple enough time to make improvements over time.

Candidate for cloning!

A market of disgruntled customers.
Re:The Great Smartphone War on Saturday May 03, 2014 @07:05PM (#7692659)
Why didn't Samsung select other designs from the menu of choices? The myriad design decisions Samsung made produced an iPhone. That's copying.
Re:The Great Smartphone War on Saturday May 03, 2014 @06:58PM (#7692640)
Can't expect Apple to take it sitting down, regardless of the prevailing prejudice.
Re:The Great Smartphone War on Saturday May 03, 2014 @06:55PM (#7692633)
The worthless iPhone argument
Re:The Great Smartphone War on Saturday May 03, 2014 @06:54PM (#7692628)
Why then didn't Samsung copy the LG phone?
I was in middle-school during this time in Southern California and had hands-on electronics classes.

The site is so garish and distracting, the article is difficult to read.

"This is only the case when you have something to fear from superior competition"

What you describe also occurred/occurs in Cuba, and that's not a capitalistic regime.

Re:How an accident revolutionized guitar sound on Wednesday August 07, 2013 @01:49AM (#6171104)
Don't Worry's distortion is breathtaking in the context it's presented. I can see how it would make an impact in the industry. It's quite a unique sound, consistent square wave distortion, verging on not sounding like a guitar any longer. Can't say I've heard anything like it in earlier electric guitar recordings.
Re:Yehuda Katz and Tilde.io on Tuesday August 06, 2013 @11:52PM (#6170716)
Wave coming.
Hooray for Apple!
What medicine is that pray tell?

I mean, if you're comparing bans in Europe with bans in the U.S., they're not comparable. I don't think Korea is going to ban Samsung phones in its own country either.

Regardless. Apple's genius isn't patentable anyway.
I can't wait to see links to iTunes on the Amazon web site one day.
"in this case, the prices of many ebooks went up by quite a bit"

But no one was coerced into buying those books. Where's the crime?

What's wrong with publishers getting more control? Don't they pay authors? We're not talking about scientific journal publishers here. Who's forcing them to reduce their prices?
I think the conspiracy is really correcting a wrong. The publishers felt they made a mistake giving Amazon so much leverage, so early in the development of e-commerce. To assume that all e-commerce should develop in the open web model is ludicrous. This has to be obvious to some in Washington.

Photoshop could never inspire me to do anything artistic.
Re:Logic Pro X on Tuesday July 16, 2013 @01:27PM (#6053307)
It seems Apple could in part address this by including iCloud support in Logic.

Most of these comments are silly including mine.
Re:It's Not Just Apple vs Android on Friday March 15, 2013 @10:44AM (#5380819)
Given the web is so wide open and been available for over 20 years to the public, I fail to see how Apple is responsible for this lock-in trend.

Rather Apple has aptly uncovered an untapped desire among the public, which the web failed to provide.

Yes, you can say Apple started it, so they're responsible. But this desire was ready for the pickin's. I don't fault Apple for picking it up. It must have been obvious to them.
