I also am rooting for the underdog. But the fact of the matter is, once a non-human component is found at fault for a fatal accident, it'll likely set the field back a few years. It's not about betting that he will fail, it's more about doubting that he can achieve the level of safety, by himself.

It'll be interesting to see how this affects the lending models spawned from low interest rates.

That's exactly what I was thinking, too, when reading:

  > I know, it sounds like one of these “duh! moments”, but I can’t think of an instance where I saw this pattern explained in some article.
The comment section was pretty quick to point out the article that the author couldn't find. I mean, some readers are pushing back because they legitimately disagree, but I was more so confused because React already does this. And it's somewhat well documented. Though the author coming to a similar conclusion by himself is praise worthy.

I'm a 2014 Vanderbilt Engineering grad and just graduated from Hack Reactor. I've been programming since high school and placed first in Vanderbilt's ACM programming contest freshman year. I've worked with startups all throughout college, but I wanted to write production code and move to SF so I went to Hack Reactor. And I also wanted to show that I can pick up anything, so for my thesis project I learned Rust and implemented HTTP/2 features with my team. I'm ready to hit the ground running in any team.

Ask HN: Advice for a 2014 engineer grad to land a startup job?

Hi HN, I just graduated from a non Stanford/MIT/CMU, top 20 university with a CS minor. I started programming in high school, and I always wanted to be in the Bay Area's tech scene. I was heavily invested with a startup in college, and I thought dropping my CS major to a minor would be fine as long as I got the experience and the code to show for it.But now, I haven't gotten much luck with the...

It looks like you're missing the middle initial, which a lot of businesses use and also easy to permutate through only 26 letters.
