http://hnd.sm is sincerely 'coming soon' (next week) but you can see how much work we've already done on our Dribbble here > http://dribbble.com/handsomemade

It's been a blast working with startups and existing brands creating new products, marketing them, and generally creating success through precise user experience.

Very profitable already and showing impressive growth.

Not a "web app" or socially networked, real time diet planner but we're a business and we're profitable!

Started in Jan of this year.

I use DragonDrop 500 times per day. I love it! Thank you!

How do you hire a [good] web developer in South Africa?

I've been trying for weeks now to find any good web developers living in Cape Town to take the relatively impressive opportunity I'm putting out there.I'm from the US and it wouldn't take 24 hours to find 5 highly qualified developers to consider for this position. It's been nearly a month and quite a few Rands in advertising for this position and so far, nil.Any tips, suggestions, hints,...

Re:Ask HN: What do you do and how much do you make annually? on Friday February 25, 2011 @04:03AM (#2261599)
1. I do some front end development but mostly consult and project manage on large, well funded projects. This includes some of my own projects.

2. $175,000+/-.

3. Dishwasher.

4. 14 in web technologies.

5. Knowing the ins and outs of web products and how to make them and how to make businesses around them. Knowing your own value and not settling for anything less. Determination and confidence.

Re:Sunday's Super Bowl the most high-tech ever on Saturday February 05, 2011 @03:41AM (#2182762)
Isn't each consecutive Super Bowl the most high-tech ever?

Maybe one year they could do a "Super Bowl Unplugged" and be the one off, odd year that they digress in technology.

How can you predict there will be lots of wasted money? Blindly investing in a group of startups because of a high profile incubator they're participating in is a practice in publicity and, as an investment, a bet against numbers at worse.

I'm gambling that YC and Yuri are pretty smart about what they're doing. It's a branding/publicity exercise that will probably return just a few (not important) numbers for Yuri that uses these YC kids as a vehicle.

When I read the title I thought to myself.. "If you were really smart you'd 'make' a job for yourself"

But I see that's pretty much what you're trying to do by advertising like this on HN.

So, instead, I say.. "Good luck"
