Yes. But I'm curious what other people does.

Ask HN: How do you currently monitor cron jobs?

Sometimes a cron job fails and you won't even notice for weeks or months that it is failing unless you manually check things (e.g, check data on the db, check the logs, run the cron job manually and check if it will finish running successfully, etc...).I'm curious on how do you currently monitor cron jobs?Like how do you know immediately that your cron jobs are failing (e.g, it fails to run or...

CronMonit is a very simple tool for monitoring cron jobs so you'll get notified via email when your cron jobs fail (e.g, it fails to run or it fails to finish running successfully because of an unexpected error). It only takes a few minutes to setup - https://twitter.com/CronMonit/status/1177786080289902592

As of this writing, CronMonit already processed 100k+ pings. It's being used by us on 1 project (w/c is in production) and it works well for us. It already helped us discover failing cron jobs. We'll let open source projects use it for free. We're also planning to let a limited number of people use CronMonit to monitor the cron jobs of their startup / small business / side project for free. In exchange, I just need to get their feedback later so I can further improve it. Please send an email to [email protected] if you're interested.

Hi fiatjaf! It means headquarters. Anyway, let me know if you need any help in trying out the app. I would really appreciate it if you can provide feedback. Constructive criticisms are welcome :)
Hi there! You and your team can use it to easily collaborate on customer support, sales, hiring etc... It's currently used by 12 companies who participated in our private beta. Now we want more users to try out the app so we can get more feedback. This is the private beta signup page that we used - http://signup.gleehq.com/ . You can check it out to get more info like how the dashboard looks. Signup an signin to try the app, it's working, we just didn't have the time to design the home page :)

PS: you can also check it's fb page for more info - https://www.facebook.com/GleeHQ

Oh, sorry for that, we'll keep that in mind. thanks!
14 year old? Dang! Great job!

@all - Hi again. We're planning to add categories and tags. Any suggestion on what categories and tags should we add? And do you think splitting the site into subdomains makes more sense or using categories and tags is enough?

Thanks in advance.

Great idea. Based on the feedback and suggestions we gathered, we're now planing to split the site into different categories or at least focus in a specific community of people first.

@all - Hi guys! Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions. It will really help us improve the site. We're still at a very early stage so we really have lots of things to fix and improve.

Be sure to visit the FAQ page to get an idea on what are the use cases of the site - http://realproblemhunt.com/faq

To improve the site we are planning to split the site into different categories or at least first focus in a specific community of people so the problems listed will be more relevant to the type of visitor. What are your thoughts about this?
