I had good experience with neuralwatt in my heavy testing on real project in last days. Price/performance for api pricing was great. When using with pi, I was a little confused on if/how it supports diff reasoning levels?

Any way to get Protect iOS notifications if using local mode only? Eg, using local local login but away from home.
Re:Switching to BunnyCDN in Less Than 2 Hours on Saturday March 15, 2025 @03:12AM (#43370646)
Does Bunny support websocket connection proxying yet?
As someone who recently looked for selfhosted notion alternative for small teams and looked at Outline, et al. here are my wishes besides basic Notion features.

- Simple install with good docs. Was hoping for something like a single binary and config values for DB, etc. and/or docker. - Some basic export option to markdown or similar in case we need to migrate in future.

Hetzner cloud?

You don't need to use Shadow DOM though?
Re:An open-source alternative to QuickBooks on Monday May 29, 2023 @08:55PM (#36119984)
For me it is if my CPA and bookeepers can and will use it.
In the US it is not common. In EU the majority of EVs carry a cable in the vehicle for level 2 charging. At first I found it strange, but if you provide the cable instead having it built into level 2 EVSE (charger) its one less thing that can be broken or vandalized.
As someone who is trialing Hetzner is there a link to info on this?
Question for those who encrypt disk on Hetzner with LUKS. How can you get it to auto assign private IP from DHCP on boot?

Thanks for this. How does speed of OpenZiti compare to Wireguard on network on same LAN? Eg. if you connect machines on same VPC?

Consuming webhooks in dev environment is one use-case.

Re:Migrating from Vue 2 to Svelte on Friday December 02, 2022 @11:31AM (#33832704)
Its a good question. I should have said I have "dependency fatigue". If we do stick with a framework, it would be Svelte, it has a great Dev UX. Over the years, I have came to the conclusion every dependency is a future problem, especially if pulled in w/o giving it much thought. It takes two hands to count the number of times we had to refactor an app because some client side router changed their API _again_. Writing a small client router that does only what we need is an event listener and switch statement. Javascript/CSS itself has came a long way in the last years as well. I have no plans of building yet-another-framework. Leverage what the browser gives us as much as possible, any annoying boiler plate can be a snippet or generator. Avoiding the complexity that a bundler adds is also a bonus. Tucking logic away in dependencies, whether written by ourselves or others can complicate things.

I am a founder first, and a developer second. My biggest goal is to build products that solve problems and load extremely fast and are as lightweight as possible. The less tech involved the better.

Lastly, this is just one person's opinion, and I am often wrong.

Re:Migrating from Vue 2 to Svelte on Friday December 02, 2022 @02:46AM (#33827940)
We built Roomlio entirely with svelte. Large app and many components. Having used react and angular on production apps in the past, I much prefer svelte. That being said, I am sick of framework fatigue and going forward I would probably choose raw web components and a simple template literal based template library like lit-html (not lit element). Write all the other bits ourselves.

Look into Passive House designs, and videos by Joseph Lstiburek if you are interested in energy efficiency and building structures to last with modern materials.
Re:Web Push Notifications in WebKit on Wednesday December 08, 2021 @05:39PM (#29491503)
I can say we (roomlio.com) really miss not having push notifications on iOS for our chat PWA. Just presenting that as one use case where I believe push notifications would add value by notifying users of new chat messages.
Re:Remote code execution in cdnjs of Cloudflare on Friday July 16, 2021 @06:27AM (#27854757)
We have ran with s3 origin and a CDN for our static files for years. It has been super solid, almost zero downtime.

One thing that has become an issue, is s3 doesn't let add custom headers, eg. CSP, CORP etc.

We are considering firebase hosting or our own origins behind a CDN for more control over headers. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Of course the 3D printing community is already designing accessories. https://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=Airtag
Not op but we just installed 12kw system in Seattle and will have cost us $23k after federal tax credit. Approximately $2/watt. Get quotes from 3+ credible local companies. Also check energysage.
Great work! I am just trying it out, but realized it doesn't highlight links/buttons in Firefox. Is that outside the scope of this tool? If so, do you just suggest using Vimac in combination with Vimium?
Re:One in Three Americans Would Not Get Covid-19 Vaccine on Sunday August 09, 2020 @12:09PM (#24100551)
One example, babies too young to receive vaccines or pregnant mothers.
This happened to me. Twice. I bought a 16" mbp when it was released because the keyboard of the previous mbp gave me carpal tunnel. I immediately added a camera cover like I always had done on macs. My screen stopped working a few days later, but mbp still worked on my external monitor. I took it in and they replaced the display for free via applecare.

Once I got my mbp back, I added the camera cover again (stupidly). The next day I opened my mbp, and had a line down the center of my screen. That is when I realized what had happened. I then told Apple exactly what I think happened. And to their credit, the replaced it (again) for free.

Over the next weeks, I received 3 different calls from Apple staff, with seemingly increased responsibilities. They all asked detailed questions investigating what I thought happened and in what sequence.

I am not surprised to see this support article.

Re:TablePlus – Modern, Native Tool for Database Management on Saturday April 18, 2020 @02:50PM (#22910112)
I am totally fine with the license model. I have been using TablePlus for over 2 years. When I first tried it I had a few questions/issues and the developer responded immediately and made changes based on feedback. (the email thread is 42 msgs :)).

I have been using it daily for pg, mysql, occasionally for redis and sqllite, it works great and gets continuous improvements. I wish this company all the best, great product, great support.

Re:Firefox 73 on Tuesday February 11, 2020 @01:06PM (#22300796)
One thing I did to help it "make it stick" when I made the switch was I made a FF Color theme that matches chrome's colors. https://color.firefox.com/?theme=XQAAAAIWAQAAAAAAAABBKYhm849...

I switched to FF about 2 months ago. I made a FF Color theme [0] that matches Chrome's colors to help ease my transition. Only color I wasn't able to adjust with FF color is the tab onhover color.
