AI harnesses like Claude will set it all up for you, you can just say "I want to run a localllm on this machine" and it will find the best one for your hardware and even help you fine tune it etc

I have no idea what you are trying to say
Re:The Dock on Mac, from OS 10 to macOS 27 on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @02:01AM (#50067404)
To be fair I assume a lot of HN users spend most of their time in the terminal anyway, so maybe not representative of your average user
Speculating, but it could also be they don't actually have Braze access, but there is a table in snowflake to schedule push notifications

Or they are lying about having snowflake access and only actually have Braze

Lots of fun possibilities!

I've seen comments from people claiming they used to work at Asos saying that they have a Braze/Snowflake integration, and the push notification was sent from Braze
What version of Office are we talking about?

"What's the craic" immediately jumped out at me, of course you're from Belfast :)

Cool project!

I've noticed this

Google Play is regularly slower now than App Store Connect, which never used to be the case

well that was incredibly annoying lol
Re:iPhone Duo on Thursday September 10, 2026 @11:45AM (#49645723)
Also the biggest risk with the M1 was really software, that your Intel compiled apps wouldn't work on Apple Silicon

That was solved over time anyway as macOS improved and more developers ported their apps over

lol

Definitely an upgrade over 1.2

People say X is toxic, but Bluesky really is on another level
Re:Monzo Stand-In on Saturday August 29, 2026 @09:52AM (#49489919)
Just pointing out this is from February 2025, so has been a thing for a while
Re:I'm switching my phone from Android to Linux on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @07:22PM (#49190402)
I wonder how much of that is to do with patents? I imagine Apple and Google own all sorts of patents around tech to do with the camera/keyboard etc
I had this too, brought some credits (around $50USD) around Christmas time and only used a small amount, went to look the other day and it showed me a balance of zero, also couldn't figure out what happened to them

Small enough amount of money that I didn't bother chasing it up, but surprising to see other people saying the same thing, maybe I will

Re:Building a native C# implementation of CEL engine on Thursday July 30, 2026 @02:37PM (#49113878)
Semantic git commits have been a thing for years - https://www.conventionalcommits.org/en/v1.0.0/

I've always liked them and tried to convince others to use them

AI models seem to like them as well

Re:Claude Is Down on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @04:46PM (#49102853)
this is my methadone until Claude comes back
Re:Claude Is Down on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @04:30PM (#49102646)
Nostalgia lol
Re:Claude Is Down on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @04:08PM (#49102366)
I just use variables...right? And loops??

All kidding aside, there's a part of me who wouldn't even be mad if AI just disappeared, I miss the pre-AI world

Re:Airport Simulator on Monday July 20, 2026 @10:58AM (#48979780)
Maybe it's by design, but Show HN posts seem to just get completely buried, whereas posting stuff directly is more successful

I've spoke to other people who've had the same experience, maybe just a coincidence but could be why people avoid it?

Re:Airport Simulator on Monday July 20, 2026 @10:10AM (#48979127)
Fun little game

However I notice people have realized they can set their own score with an HTTP request (I mean, it's Hacker News), maybe put in some sort of mitigation?

Re:Annoying and alarming things about OpenCode on Monday July 20, 2026 @09:27AM (#48978597)
posted just as I start to use OpenCode haha
Oh that's a nice idea, will look into it, cheers :)

Show HN: SkyPocket, see what's going on during your flight

https://skypocket.cloud/

This is a little app I built for myself, as I travel and fly a lotIt uses your phones GPS, accelerometer and barometer to show you what's going on during your flight, the main metrics shown are:* Lat/Long + location on a map (also shows your flight path so far)* Ground speed / Altitude* Track/VS/Mach* G load* Turbulece* Bank EstimateThis isn't for professional pilots, more for something to do...

You might want to clarify what you mean by "SA" lol
I always had a soft spot for May

When she was Home Secretary before being Prime Minister, it was her who blocked the extradition of Gary McKinnon

America wanted to extradite him and lock him up for decades (some even talked about “frying” him)

She’ll always have my respect for putting her foot down and saying no
