Re:ECMAScript 4: The Missing Version on Friday May 29, 2020 @11:19PM (#23358182)
I covered ES4 in my book, Get Programming with JavaScript Next. ActionScript 3 was basically a real world implementation of ES4.
I wrote "get programming with JavaScript next" the whole "get programming" series ends each unit with a let's build a project to encapsulate all these ideas.
Re:Why Water Is Wet on Friday June 19, 2015 @08:41AM (#9744279)
I forget what they are called, but I have heard of places that immerse you in total darkness and total silence and have you float in water that is the same as your skins temperature so that you feel like you are floating in nothingness. I never went but want to try it sometime. So I cannot say if it works or not but at least according to these places you would not feel the water. I wish I could remember what they were called. We have one here in Atlanta.

EDIT: found it based on SCHiM's comment: http://flo2s.com/floating/what-is-a-float-tank/

Can you please explain the numbers 2.0+, 1.4-1.5, etc. when referring to a programmer's skill. I have never seen this before.

Re:Apple Deleted Rivals’ Songs from Users’ iPods on Thursday December 04, 2014 @11:42AM (#8700104)
The main reason I prefer purchasing on iTunes vs physical CDs is that I do not have to purchase an entire album to get the one song I like. I know there are singles CDs, but usually just for certain hit songs.

When I was stationed in D.C. in 2003/2004 we had a swarm of cicadas that year that was remarkable. People on the subway literally had them crawling on their backs. The roads and sidewalks were paved in their corpses. I lived on the 9th floor of an apartment and the sound even at that level was very loud.

I am on Sprint, would like to test my 9-1-1 coverage, but unsure how without making a false 9-1-1 call.

I used to use Netbeans before moving to Sublime Text, there was only really one thing I missed, the way it showed changes in the gutter.

What about tinactin, lamisil, lotrimin, monistat? They are all anti fungal creams OTC for about $10. Is this prescription you had 12x as potent?

Re:Microsoft is killing the Nokia and Windows Phone brands on Wednesday September 10, 2014 @04:26PM (#8298901)
I don't understand the surface branding either. When I hear Microsoft Surface I still think of those table tops.

Any advice on how you were able to achieve this ability? I always try to take a quick nap but can never fall asleep fas t enough for it to be effective.

Then wouldn't these individuals not even care to pay f their debt at .10 to the 1.00?

Wonder how strong the magnet is. For example, would it fling off if you swung a driver it was connected to? Wondering since they show it on a putter.

This was a story on radiolab titled stochasticity: http://www.radiolab.org/story/91684-stochasticity/

I can find someone to drive me around for a month for way less than 10K

Being that this is marketed as a sort of cruise control++, I would suspect the same party who is liable when an accident happens while cruise control is engaged.

I am sure it could be wired up to follow the mouse as if it were a moving head.

If I was bitten by a snake, spider, etc. I'd love to be able to snap a picture to quickly identify it and know whether or not to rush to the ER.

User 'instanerd' has exceeded the 'max_questions' resource (current value: 75000)
I can only image the frustration of someone lost at sea watching one of these slowly drift right passed them and no way to get on board and no crew to signal for help.

I thought you were referring to a way to connect my terminal to the browsers console.

I would love for there to be some node.js plugin where I could basically connect to the browser's js console.
