Can anyone explain this to me? My interpretation is the central bank exchanges exporter’s foreign currency for RMB. How does it become bank loans?
I’m interested in supporting this project, but I don’t want to just be a passive donor. I wish they were doing something like a Patreon project, with levels of engagement that come with my donation.

It’s a 4.25 kW system with 10 solar panels and a Powerwall in Los Angeles.
Ah, correction, 3kW is the peak, 15kWh sent to grid.

I am currently only using about a third of the electricity my home solar+battery system produces. The surplus is going to the grid where I am accumulating credits from my utility. Could I be using this electricity for something else, better than sending it to the grid? Or, maybe there are fun/interesting ways I could be using it? For some reason purifying water or producing hydrogen comes to...
So essentially it’s a marketing play?
Is hedge the right term, as in hedging a bet? Or are they reinforcing their dominant position?
What is NYT going to gain from this purchase? Or, what am I giving to NYT when I play this game over coffee every morning?
