This is a incredibly portrait about the current state of frameworks. I laughed so hard when I saw thousands of badges.
Before anything else, congratulations. I've been there as well and I know how hard is to deal with chargebacks. They can easily break the whole SaaS business model.
Re:Mathematically, you should not invest in crypto on Friday September 17, 2021 @01:15AM (#28561480)
This article is wrong in so many points that I basically copy and pasted the whole thing.

> Disclaimer - I have invested 1% of my savings into stable cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum etc.

The question is not how much. The question is when and how. The only thing that is good on this article is the % of the savings. 1% is fairly reasonable.

> Let’s talk about slot games first.

Bad comparison. Those who mix investment and lucky generally have a pretty wrong concept about investment.

> Most of them are designed in such a way that you will win only 49% of the time and the rest 51% of you will lose.

Considering that this is true, it is not a chaotic system like any economic system. Nobody can set a decentralized currency to fail.

> Cryptocurrency returns are a zero-sum game i.e. if 1 person gets a $10 profit, another person has to lose $10.

No, it is not. The monetary base expands with a fixed rate. Also, you are mixing profit and value here. One can easily profit $10, sell an the other one profit $10.

> To win in gambling, you must have a mathematical positive edge over your competitors.

Wrong again. For this to work, both you and the machine need to have infinite money. One lucky person can win you all.

> In my cryptocurrency world, no one really has a positive mathematical edge in cryptocurrency i.e. no one has such information which makes them better than other crypto investors. So, it is impossible to make a profit in long term.

This is so wrong that it is wrong in different levels at the same time. You can be a better investor in crypto. One example was the strategicly investing in currencies that that's inverse proportional due to its differences of philosophies (like BCH and BTC). Another level of wrongness is that crypto can reduce risks of a local currency, due to the fact that no individual institution can control.

> Why do I invest? I believe staying longer for longer period creates a mathematical edge as people in short term either book small profit and leave or accumulate huge loss and wait for price coming back.

This is wrong because you are completely ignoring some basic concepts called innovation, market shift, corporation wrongdoings. You are basically saying that a company can't fail if you wait long enough.

Any chances of getting an Android port?
Let me say that this is the best thing that I ever saw in science: people using art to explain extremely complex findings that might change the future in a bit. I laughed a bit on 'I don't know you anymore'.

When I was younger, I remember to read cyberpunk comics quite a lot. They explain a vision of the future that is improbable, but in many ways it get stuff right. Imagine aligning this with real word science. Imagine hearing from a superhero how his powers came to him. Imagine having a scientist name on the movie credits.

It doesn't need to make everything scientifically accurate, but explaining the fundamentals can engage more people to enter science.

Yesterday I was watching a new movie from Netflix called 'hacker'. The movie is awful, but it starts showing how Stuxnet should work, and that is pretty awesome. This is cool because I know the fundamentals of Stuxnet.

If they break the 4th wall and show something that could happen for real, it could bring more emotions to the movie.

Another customer extremelly satisfied with Namecheap. Your "beast mode" has saved me countless times.
This feels like a scam/spam to me.

If I open my Instagram right now, I will see thousands of those courses. All of them making mistakes about what a masterclass is, all of them talking about "modern" stacks and lacking a lot of content.

To put into perspective: 2 of the 3 courses that I've enrolled missed the "how to put in production mode" part.

But don't get me wrong, I like what you are doing. It is just that I miss the "real advanced" part. All of them seems to teach the same thing, in the same speed.

I think implementing new features isn't the same as maintence. Maintennce is to make something that isn't working work.
Re:Ask HN: How has been your experience moving everything to React on Wednesday September 25, 2019 @08:40PM (#21077066)
If I had the opportunity to go back in time and change one of my decisions, that would be one. And if I really need to move to another framework, I rather go something more simple, like Vue.

React is hard and sometimes fails to deliver value fast enough.

Re:Ask HN: What do you want to see in Ubuntu 17.10? on Friday March 31, 2017 @10:18PM (#14010015)
+1 to this. That was the main reason I still have to use Windows and macOS.

- FLAVOR: Ubuntu Server / OpenStack (ClearOS)

-HEADLINE: Embedded "cPanel" alternative.

-DESCRIPTION: Like ClearOS, focusing on easy server administration though web , Ubuntu Server could have an embedded alternative to it. All the free thirdparts alternatives (ZPanel and others) are painful to install, have super bad UI and deliveries some inefficiency tools due to OS. Even the payed ones have this problems, but most of them on a smaller scale. I've mentioned OpenStack because it deliveries some nice virtualization tools though webadmin.

This tool will drastically increase the usage of Ubuntu Server inside home servers/small hosting providers, since cPanel is payed and . Ubuntu Server already has one of the easiest installation. This tool would allow non-serverAdmins to use it in small website hostings.
