This looks really interesting. Optimizing for humans vs. agents feels like the new wave of Desktop vs. Mobile (where mobile won) - agents are going to win even faster.

Where is the repo? It's mentioned but I can't find it.

That is crazy. You are suggesting that corporations should have no power over their own IP.

Are you really saying that if Anthropic sells a limited version of their product to Palantir at a certain price, the government should be able to demand access to an unlimited version of Anthropic's product for free because they are a customer of Palantir?

That would effectively mean the government gets an unlimited license to all IP of companies that do business with government suppliers... that would be terrible.

Re:TrueMeter: AI Energy Agent That Optimizes Utility Bills on Thursday December 04, 2025 @01:10PM (#46150786)
Love seeing AI applied to something actually painful: deciphering PG&E’s criminally convoluted bills. If this really works as claimed, it's a public service.
Re:Are You Vibe Working Yet? on Wednesday April 30, 2025 @04:45PM (#43850476)
> That's the job of each employee, CTO, and architects, together. Not the CEO. The CEO shouldn't make technical decisions like that.

Using your company's product isn't a technical decision. This is a ridiculous statement.

> OTOH, I remember all the toxic managers (along with the HR, CEO, and other spineless people) who told me to chill out after having verbally abused people

Why are you verbally abusing people? That is not very nice. I agree that you should chill out and stop doing that.

Re:Are You Vibe Working Yet? on Wednesday April 30, 2025 @11:42AM (#43846785)
Sounds like you come with some baggage. Maybe take a break from work for a while - you must not enjoy it.

We build a zero trust AI layer for companies... this is literally a demand that we dogfood our own product.

How dare a CEO ask employees to use their own product inside a company? That's a terrible idea and never leads to anything good.

If you are building or using AI agents, three critical lessons I learned:

1. There is no "best" model or tool 2. Build for today's ecosystem (stdin/stdout), not tomorrow's (SSE) 3. MCP is stateful — and that is going to change *everything*

Odd timing - right in the middle of RSA in SF. Llama (and other US-trained open weight models) are key to national security and cybersecurity, and there's a built in audience 30 minutes away if this were two days later or two days earlier...
Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (September 2024) on Thursday September 05, 2024 @02:22PM (#41459190)
Costa Security | Software Engineer / Networking | Bay Area / Chicago Preference (Open to Remote) | Full Time

We are Costa, and we make it easy to connect and secure thousands of computers across clouds, on the edge, and everywhere in between.

The future of the $500B, 2030 cyber industry is a unified platform. The big players are moving slowly, trying to integrate legacy services. Costa was built from the ground up to be that unifying platform.

Costa has a unique architecture that is already in path at some of the largest companies in the world.

We are still in stealth. We are backed by Silicon Valley VCs. We have taken companies from inception -> IPO before. And we are laser-focused on solving some of the hardest problems in network security.

Read the job descriptions and apply here: https://careers.costa.security/

I wish it supported Google Apps accounts.
Re:Ask HN: How do you use Docker in production? on Friday October 17, 2014 @08:00AM (#8470476)
I'm a big fan of lime :). Nice to see you out in the wild like this.
Re:Wednesday's lunar eclipse will be special on Monday October 06, 2014 @11:09PM (#8419508)
seems like we won't be able to see it in california. too bad, looks like it will be a neat phenomenon.

"Unfortunately this site is only available from Great Britain."

Do you have another link? This looks interesting.

Re:Mt. Gox – Business Plan 2014-2017 [pdf] on Thursday February 27, 2014 @02:40AM (#7310889)
How many employees did Mt. Gox have? This seems pretty polished for a company that I thought had ~10 employees.
Re:Show HN: Writebin, an inline markdown editor on Friday February 14, 2014 @11:17PM (#7242647)
This is great stuff. Writing markdown is much more rewarding when it pops as you write it like this. I usually write using half of my screen, using another window as a reference, so side-by-side never works for me. This works well!

small suggestion: would be great to have a way to navigate by keyboard between paragraphs (tab / shift-tab?). if that feature exists, I couldn't find the keystrokes.

Re:Why Banks are Declaring War on Bitcoin on Thursday December 05, 2013 @04:16AM (#6853357)
However you feel about BitCoin, some of the assertions in this article are pretty insane. A new currency doesn't magically erase our need for debt, and debt isn't always a bad thing.
This definitely depends a lot on the airport and distance you are traveling. San Francisco to New York, Los Angeles to Chicago... America is too big for land to be faster. Stuff is a closer in Western Europe.
Re:Ubisoft hacked, account data compromised on Tuesday July 02, 2013 @06:38PM (#5981194)
I received an email from Ubisoft and assumed I was being phished. They are not doing a good job of fixing the problem here.

They should have a cert on the splash redirect page. I wasn't sure if ubi.com was actually Ubisoft. Even worse, the email I got had some terrible font - practically unreadable. Those two factors combined did not make me feel that giving them my password is a good idea.

Can you list some of the save codes for us? I've lost state more than a few times (old habit of hitting command-r to run code doesn't work well in browser-based development).
Strong relationships make you happy. Not that suprising - we are social creatures after all.

Re:Could Millennials End Salary Secrecy? on Thursday April 18, 2013 @02:04AM (#5569125)
It's a ridiculous one-sided advantage to suppliers of labor if we keep our mouths shut. Perhaps by speaking "that which must not be spoken," we can make salary decisions more open and fair across the board.
Re:Dashing - A dashboard framework on Wednesday March 27, 2013 @07:05AM (#5448700)
this looks lovely. can't wait to use it for internals
Bitcoin is a currency, not ownership of a company. Bitcoin are still so difficult to purchase that I doubt writing about them seriously raises the price. There have been bubbles in Bitcoin before, many are suggesting Spain/Cyprus are encouraging the current one.

Just as financial journalists do not have to disclose their personal wealth when writing about currency markets, tech journalists shouldn't have to disclose their bitcoin holdings when writing about Bitcoin.

Re:Two Months of Soylent on Monday March 18, 2013 @07:44PM (#5397912)
I'm confused. Is soylent the same thing as soylent green? In which case, this is a satirical post (but I don't find it very funny)...

If not, isn't soylent just about the worst possible name for a real food product (with unknown/nonspecific ingredients), because of the movie?

Re:Slate: a Mac OS X window manager for power users on Sunday February 17, 2013 @08:31PM (#5237602)
I use SizeUp for window management. Not perfect, but for most tasks I've found it more than good enough.

Will be giving Slate a trial period to see if I like it more.
