With reproducible builds like Signal does you can be sure the app you've downloaded matches the source code that's been audited:

Been lucky enough to visit that park and it's a fantastic place. Take a walking tour and see the chimp groups up close.

They should, but the entire internal metering & bill generation pipeline isn't setup to support that. You can configure billing alerts but these will only refresh on updates to your estimated bill (typically re-computed every 8hrs). And since service teams are responsible for posting metering records to commerce platform their implementation may vary.

TLDR: AWS Commerce Platform is a mess.

Hey Muhammad. This is your project that you are trying to play off as something you've just come across isn't it?

Ask HN: Why is there no better protocol support for WiFi captive portals?

I'm curious why we still rely on hacky techniques like requesting captive.apple.com and waiting for interception, rather than having proper protocol-level support built into WPA. Why can't the WPA protocol simply announce that authentication requires a captive portal? This seems like every public hotspot I connect to it's flakey and will sometimes report it's connected when it still requires...

Can't you offer a free trial for everyone to test your service and potentially convert if they like it?
Re:Firefox bug gets fixed after 25 years on Tuesday May 21, 2024 @05:06PM (#40433919)
No, this was filed for originally Netscape Navigator which codebase evolved into modern Firefox.
For exactly the same reasons, Amazon limits message retentions on it's internal Slack platform and aggressively enforces mailbox quotas in it's internal email system. Up to some shady shenanigans, and don't have to hand it over as part of discovery if they don't got the record in the first place. Exactly the same way criminal gangs operate!

Seems to be affecting from consumer site and publishing side (App Store Connect).

UPDATE: Looks to be more wide spread, also including Apple Music, iTunes, Podcasts.

Can't wait for a 2026 manned moon mission. Get to watch a live moon landing like my grandparents generation!
I actually built 'Tembo - Bilingual Stories' while learning German myself, so hate to plug it on this thread, but we've got lots of German content, maybe you'll find something that interests you?

Then can I shamelessly plug Tembo - Bilingual Stories (iOS/Android) to you. We offer audiobooks for some of our titles, so you can listen and learn simultaneously. It's a big undertaking to editing them all in-house, but we have audiobooks available for about 30 stories across our courses.
