We’re looking for a full-time technical writer to get familiar with our software product and help explain it to others. Your job would be to expand and enhance our educational materials, including but not limited to our:
- EdgeSet user manual (https://www.tetmon.com/edgeset/manual/current/en-US/)
- Blog posts (https://www.tetmon.com/blog)
- Slide decks for our in-person and online training programs
- Employee and partner handbooks and documentation
- Case studies and project summaries
- Scripts for videos
Our manual is maintained in Quarto (markdown). All other documents are in Google Docs.
Since you'd need to regularly interact with our engineers, analysts, and clients, we need you to be in a time zone in Asia (we are centered around SGT).
Please send your CV and a link to examples of your work to [email protected].
Flexible hours, minimal meetings, fully remote
Tech: TypeScript, Python, Nix/NixOS
We have a suite of end-to-end tests that each spin up a virtual network from scratch to test our application. This test suite gates our automated release process and has been critical in allowing us to ship updates to users quickly and confidently. We'd like to expand it further and are looking for someone who cares about automation and correctness and can help us greatly expand what we test.
Part of the tests are written in Python (since that's what the NixOS test infrastructure provides) and part of the tests are written in TypeScript (the parts that drive a headless web browser). We developed our own convenience library on top of Puppeteer that make tests easier to write and more reliable than Puppeteer, Playwright, or Taiko (all of which we used previously). The tests can run locally (on Linux/MacOS development machines) and they run automatically on push to our build servers. The build servers are modern bare metal servers with Ampere and AMD CPUs with enough RAM to run dozens of test networks in parallel.
We have a simple review/interview/hiring process and low employee turnover.
Contact [email protected] and include your GitHub profile or attach examples of your work.
Flexible hours, minimal meetings, fully remote, publishing opportunities
Tech: TensorFlow, LoRA, GPT-4, EdgeSet, Trino, Python, Rust
We have several projects to explore and publish about, including but not limited to:
- matching entities (people/addresses/etc.) across many languages and postal systems
- flagging data columns that contain personally identifiable information
- generating test cases to expose bugs in code
We're also open to you exploring questions/problems you're interested in, if you're prepared to clearly explain your process/results.
We're looking for someone who can keep clean notebooks and communicate their workflows and results well. We work in South East Asia with low-resource languages like Bahasa and Burmese (as well as English and Chinese). Our work ranges from designing LLM prompts to training models. We do not generally build models ourselves, but we will if the project requires it. Our team is strong in Data(Dev)Ops and Data Engineering and you'll have the support necessary for sourcing data and running/training models (high VRAM GPU clusters, etc.).
Your work would go towards:
- adding features to our virtual data warehouse product (EdgeSet)
- publishing interesting analysis or results on open questions in research
- assisting clients in solving natural language problems (customer support, QA, etc.)
You should be comfortable working in small teams with minimal guidance.

We have 186 open issues of which about 90% are product enhancements and 10% are bugs to fix. You will be working with a frontend engineer who builds the TypeScript/HTML/CSS and the CTO who writes backend and frontend code. The product and team will continue to grow and we will implement increasingly ambitious features.[email protected] (attach or link to examples of your work)
(Information about EdgeSet is not currently available on https://www.tetmon.com/, but will eventually be published to https://edges.et/)

We're looking for a backend engineer to take over 10,000+ lines of Haskell and Nix. We have ~100 open issues of which about 90% are product enhancements and 10% are bugs to fix. You would be working with the CTO who does code review and occasionally writes code and a frontend engineer who maintains the TypeScript/HTML/CSS. The product and team will continue to grow.
Our product is a virtual data warehouse. We specialize in automatic data (type) inference and other quality-of-life features for setting up and performing data analysis against various data sources.
We are small, engineering led, and fully remote. We use the best tools we can find and stay at the frontier of tech. We work with open source and contribute upstream when possible.
You should have experience with medium-to-large-scale Haskell systems (sorry, no internships available at this time).

We provide a no-code virtual data warehouse (product) + data operations consulting/professional services
Flexible hours, minimal management, travel around APAC (optional)
Product tech: Haskell, Java, NixOS, Trino
Services tech: Linux, AWS, Kafka, SQL
We are a small, engineering-led, fully remote company headquartered in Singapore. Our clients are primarily in Finance/FinTech. We give our engineers the best tools we can find and stay at the frontier of tech.
We're looking for an independent-minded engineer in APAC who enjoys working with systems and people. You will be interfacing with customers and helping them solve problems. To prevent burn-out, you can spend some of your time on pure (single-product) development work if that interests you.

How many .com domain names are unused?
We need someone with experience running large websites. We already have 5 very talented developers with systems and networking experience who are already managing the sites on a day-to-day basis. They need someone to lead them: guide designs, anticipate problems, communicate with other departments, prioritize projects, etc. You will need to have a strong development background even though this is not a developer position.
If you can do the job, you can work from anywhere or we will get you a visa to work from our offices in Singapore (assuming you don't live here already). Singapore is an ideal location for living in and exploring South East Asia.
Tech used: Nix/NixOS, Linux, Haskell, VirtualBox, Puppet (for legacy servers)

We're looking for 1 more developer with systems/operations experience to join us. We are a team of 5 working to simplify and automate operations of our 7+ networks of websites and internal services across Southeast Asia. The entire team is remote.
We've built and tested a Nix(OS)-based network powering a traditional LAMP stack, running on AWS. Initially deployed with NixOps, we've since started deploying it with our in-house tool written in Haskell (https://github.com/zalora/upcast). Currently in testing, it will soon be in production serving 7+ countries and 1 million+ customers.
We release as much as we can under Free Software licenses and contribute upstream to open source projects when possible. We have no fixed schedules and no deadlines. Your job would be to learn your way around our infrastructure (and enhance our growing wiki in the process), take pager duty 1 out of every 6 weeks, and find yourself projects that will challenge and motivate you to create value for the company.
Apply here: http://jobs.zalora.com/apply/lOd9Ir/Global-DevOps-Engineer-R...
We're hiring functional programmers for development and DevOps positions. Our tools of choice are Haskell and NixOS, and we apply purely functional principles anywhere we can.
You'll be working with an experienced team, but you'll still have the opportunity to influence the design of our systems. We sell fashion products online in Southeast Asia, and the work involves building out a new NixOps-managed network, writing daemons/tools for a service-oriented architecture (primarily web-based), and the odd data science/machine learning problem (if that interests you).
We can assist you with relocation to Singapore, or you can work remotely and travel there occasionally. Apply via our jobs board at http://jobs.zalora.com/
Web Developer/DevOps
Haskell, PHP, JavaScript, Python, Linux, PostgreSQL, MySQL
Several years of experience working remotely for high traffic sites (> 1 billion page views per month) and a deep understanding of big data/large infrastructure. I've worked on everything from large JavaScript codebases, optimizing and normalizing databases, to writing high-performance PHP extensions in C.
I take pride in what I write and document it for future maintainers. My email address is available on my site and I'd be happy to talk with you about your needs.
I definitely don't expect, or hope, that monads are the final answer to isolating state manipulations, and I agree with a later comment of yours that the IO monad is not granular enough as it is in Haskell. When a large chunk of code ends up being written in the IO monad or in another monad that wraps IO, you miss out on a lot of safety and reasonability that Haskell is supposed to give you. And I've seen that happen (my own projects included).
I know that some developers are beginning to lean in the direction of functional programming by relying on const annotations and adopting a functional style. And I'm very excited and hopeful about the overall trend.
We're an Alexa top-150 site with a very small and tight DevOps team. For leverage, we automate as much as possible and build tools when they don't already exist.
You'll be working directly with a few other senior DevOps engineers. You will not have to report to any non-engineer managers.
Did I mention that the position is remote?

We're serious about the "Dev" part of DevOps. Don't apply unless you can show us some of your code. We're constantly building new tools and improving the way we administer our architecture.
We're a small, closely-knit, geographically distributed team, and we're looking for one more member.
Build Your Own Circular Log with MySQL
Our existing development team is already distributed, so all of our systems and workflow are already setup to handle remote development and different timezones. We have a lot of technical challenges to solve and interesting projects, so if you think you have what it takes: http://deviantart.theresumator.com/apply/eR4wR2/
