Re:Official Claude Code extension compromise on Friday October 30, 2026 @08:20AM (#50302928)
Keep sending all your secrets and giving full control of your devices to Anthropic.

This is fine.

The Claude plans (or whatever they’re called) are the only reason to use Claude Code.

Otherwise, it’s just obfuscated spyware that inserts ads into Git commits by default, and has been shown to consume far more tokens than other harnesses for the same tasks and models.

I really see no valid reason to use it. I tried a recent version to see whether things had changed since last year, and it’s just even more bloated.

It's written in Rust, so it's safe.
Re:C# now beats Rust on WASM size on Wednesday October 21, 2026 @04:41AM (#50177720)
Not very hard... Rust wasm binaries are ginormous.

If you care about WASM performance, size and memory usage, Zig is a much better candidate.

Agents can log traces, which can be super useful for RL, prompt optimization, tool improvements, etc.

Check out Calibra for example: https://calibra.swival.dev which turns traces from Swival into nice web pages, allows diff'ing traces, etc.

Moonshot AI are also whitelisting user-agents: https://swival.dev/pages/providers.html#generic-openai-compa...

Weird.

Re:Pi.dev: You Said No MCP on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @04:45PM (#49914172)
Swival.dev has a tool to run Python code, and it can expose the MCP tools as Python functions.

This saves a couple prompts and tokens, but only in very specific cases, only with MCP servers that don't already support code mode, and only with large models.

In practice, I've not found that to make a real difference.

Plus, it's likely that more and more MCP servers are going to use code mode natively anyway.

Re:Cf: The Agentic CLI for the Cloudflare API on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @05:37AM (#49890477)
Typescript is perfect for that kind of application. Plus, the same code runs everywhere, no need to ship native binaries for every OS and CPU.
Re:The state of SIMD in Rust in 2026 on Monday September 28, 2026 @12:50PM (#49880908)
As someone who had pretty much given up on Rust after being very disappointed with its SIMD support, and had stopped following developments in that area, I was genuinely surprised to see someone announce this today:

https://val.markovic.io/articles/philbin-the-safest-and-fast...

Performance is competitive with Zig, without using the "unsafe" keyword or nightly Rust.

Nice.

This is exactly what Swival was built for: https://swival.dev
Re:Obscura: The first VPN that can't log your activity on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @05:07AM (#49813408)
Looks similar to Anonymized DNS, which DNS users have been using for more than seven years: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-denis-dprive-dnscrypt-...
Re:Unreal Agent on Tuesday September 22, 2026 @03:48PM (#49807106)
Happy with swival.dev ...
You know, swival.dev is fully opensource, doesn't hide anything, fully supports GLM, has excellent context management to keep token usage low, and doesn't send anything you didn't ask to the cloud.
EdgeDNS was rewritten and is now EtchDNS https://etchdns.dnscrypt.info
No support for Zig?
Re:Clean up Claude 5's token vomit with a separate LLM on Friday August 21, 2026 @03:05AM (#49384766)
I’ve given up trying to read PR descriptions and comments blindly copied from Claude vomit. It’s insulting, and it gives me a headache.
Re:Clean up Claude 5's token vomit with a separate LLM on Friday August 21, 2026 @02:48AM (#49384635)
Whenever I use Claude models, I do something similar, telling it to never write documentation directly, but asking "uvx swival -- --profile qwen" to do it after describing the changes to it.

And I just stopped reading PRs and comments blindly copied from Claude vomit. It's unreadable by a human.

Have you heard about fil-c?
