Another camera body around the RPi HQ cam and updated camera software.
I've been buying vintage lenses to try out.

I have about 5 years of professional experience, mostly in web application space as a front-end dev or varying level of SWE. I've also been a CTO/Co-Founder of a document-signing on video company. I tinker with hardware too, would like to go that route. I do not have a degree. I started to learn how to code in 2013 back in the LAMP days.
Oh yeah as far as what I've been doing the last 9 months, been working labor. I was making hardware projects but lately just working labor all the time.
Kind of stopped writing code for a while. Been a few months.
Going back to the basics... a ToDo app

Thanks. I listen to EmbeddedFM and I always hear about JTAG but have not used one. Interesting thought about subsituting an FPGA for a microcontroller. Guess you would have to know how to use one in order to do something trivial like blink/move a servo.
It is on my list of things to learn/have one (Orange Crab). I just haven't had a specific use yet. I know they use them for video out/camera for example. One day... so many things to learn/need time.
I will check it out, I'm using headless bookworm atm
It's slow haha. Faster on the Pi Zero 2 with bookworm. I think it's 20-30 seconds.
I use systemd to run main.py let me time it real quick.
Edit: I was off, it's 40 seconds when the intro animation starts playing.
This is why the camera spends most of its time in the home screen state until you're ready to take a photo which is when the live pass through plays or while recording a video (allows you to change focus/aperture while filming). That also conserves power since it has the highest current draw while recording/showing a live preview.
I watched that, was amazing, those kind of creators like Applied Science are on another level.
amazing, would be funny, liter? no nuclear submarine
Ah I did not know that, thanks
I have seen some people work on a Kodak sensor and also Cine Pi's latest work with the IMX585 sensor is really amazing (4K/8K upscaled). The IMX585 sensor is expensive though compared to the HQ Cam IMX477. Here I'm using the Pi Zero 2 here so can't do 4K I believe (data lanes limit or something, also writing to SD card).

I'm not affiliated with CinePi I'm just amazed what you can do when you know what you're doing ha (eg. color grading)
The round displays are so cool
Uses an FPGA lol damn that's hardcore

This is the third camera I've designed/made around the raspberry pi parts/ecosystem.The repo has all the STL files, parts list, most wiring diagrams. The first one was the custom Pi Zero HQ cam which was featured on a Hackaday article/podcast.The modular version (aside from being able to swap cameras) mostly has the latest software. Recently I added the ability to process videos in the...

I've primarily worked in web-related tech, I'm working on trying to get into hardware overtime (currently RPi/Arduino). I have different projects on my github/hackaday.
Note: my website above was built like 7 years ago, not an indicator of where I am at technically now.
It's just running on a CRON job 8 AM... it's like an alarm.
The droning voice of AWS Polly is sure to wake anyone up.
A feature I thought about is putting the generated files elsewhere like cloud where you can play them to your wireless earbuds.
I made this [1] 6 years ago reads HN top 10 articles, top comment every morning... this thing has been sitting on my shelf since then playing everyday lol. Which is amazing because it's a janky breadboard that I never put on a solderable board.
Anyway regarding summary... I looked at rapid api before they have a sumarizer on there, can plug it into polly. It seemed decent but I wanted my own summary based on my own reading process... but never got around to it.

"webpad paste" it's a rest-url giant text pad I use to keep notes across devices
I have an actual app too that's also a note taking app (use it everyday) basic React/Electron thing with Express backend
my goal is centralizing my own info
Idk, just doing a single run watching HTOP it barely notices the requests... I just want to have concrete numbers.
Anyway I'll look around/write what I end up doing if I can still respond to this thread then.

We have a "blended stack" app which combines video and printing.Currently our stuff runs on two t2.small servers. One serves the app (has everything). I know we can break it up. What we send out is an app which is just a static build (react) and it can be smaller (it's big right now, need to purge Tailwind CSS). We use a postgres backend with Express.Aside from that the video is handled by...
Tagent: I was obsessed with this pi zero socket server design where you fit it into a wal-wart plug as they say and you just stick it on an outlet with a little rubber ducky antenna.
Yeah that would be something. The constant RF power alone hmm would be a good challenge.
Just rattling thoughts off the top of my head, my advice would be to go to a forum like allaboutcircuits.com and look around/ask. Actually could probably get help on a forum like RaspberryPi/askelectronics on reddit.
Probably not going to work honestly about the outdoor light (need more solar cells). The voltage charging the battery has to be higher than the voltage of the battery. Also have to look at the current being drawn by each piece, when the radio goes on that causes a surge in current draw too. For the Pi Zero (non-W) something like 5V * 70-200mA say current so up to 1W needed * duration. The batteries could do that but the solar cell can't keep it topped off. Also yeah you need the charge controller, some diode to make sure voltage doesn't go back to the solar cells from the batteries... lead acid battery is "safer" to work with but BMS chips for lipos are pretty inexpensive. Need a voltage regulator to take your batteries and drop it down/keep it at 5V to keep the Pi happy.
There's probably way easier approaches to do this with regard to pre-made parts but yeah. I guess depends how much you want to learn/do yourself. I remember the first time I soldered a 2x16 LCD display there were micro shorts and it was smoking.
What I like about the capacitor idea and something low power like an ESP01 is it just accepts what the solar cells put in and that's it of course I still use a voltage regulator to put 3.3V to the ESP. Doesn't last as long as a battery but it's not as complex.
Anyway this guy made a solar-powered rc plane/charging it in midair pretty cool.

Yeah you can go hardcore. I remember seeing someone make a toolbox server that they put on a roof, it might have been posted here actually.
I was just looking at small things like those garden night lights you can stake into the ground, has a solar cell on it.
