I've tried Ghostty and it's great, but Kitty's hints mode[1] is the one feature keeping me from switching from Kitty to Ghostty. There are quite a few discussions around this and similar features in the Ghosstty-org/ghostty Discussions[2] which I follow. Most of them are references from ghostty-org/ghostty/discussions/2394[3]. Maybe now that Ghostty has finished implementing Kitty graphics hints will be next .

I put a Hasu controller[1] in my Leopold F660C (Topre switches) and couldn't be happier. Though it voids the warranty, installation was very easy and it allows total control of the keymap via TMK. Looks like there are similar controllers by Hasu for HHKB[2]. If you can manage to order one I highly recommend it!

Check out the Sensor Watch project[1]! It's "An ARM Cortex M0+ board swap for the classic Casio F-91W wristwatch" that allows you to write custom firmware.

Linux kernel source is hosted at https://kernel.org , not GitHub. You're probably thinking of Linus Torvald's read-only mirror[1].

Grandstream currently has a line of Analog Telephone Adapters (ATA)[1] that fit this use case.

I just setup a VOIP line at home and have it plugged into my UPS (along with my cable modem + network devices) to provide call service in the event of a power outage.

I've seen sci-fi stories span eons due to the vast distances limited by speed. Even at light speed it still takes a huge amount of time.

Here's one such example: [The Destination Star by Gregory Marlow](https://strangehorizons.com/wordpress/fiction/the-destinatio...)

10 requests per minute per IP is plenty enough to play around with and have a little fun. For anything more than that you could (should!) host it yourself.
> I am quite confident that a skilled musician with an iPad (or, even more obviously, an electric keyboard with a MIDI cable to the iPad) can create music that is indistinguishable from a human playing a piano. The synthesizer will be able to replicate the sound of the best concert grand in the best auditorium, direct to your studio headphones.

Perhaps this is true, but it is entirely limited to replicating a _recording_ of the instrument. An iPad cannot replicate (or even come close to) the sound of a human playing a piano that you hear in person.

I think Project Gemini fits this description: https://geminiprotocol.net/
Re:Toward a More Useful Keyboard on Wednesday June 14, 2023 @10:17AM (#36326347)
I've found the Leopold FC660C to be the ultimate keyboard:

- Topre silent switches

- Compact layout _with_ arrow keys

- There is a 3rd party (Hasu) replacement controller available to make it fully programmable

I've found custom layouts at the software level are practical only if you use a single computer. My FC660C with the Hasu controller has my custom keymaps defined in the keyboard itself - usable on any computer I plug into!

I was intrigued by this statement and did some searching. Sure enough it does exist: https://www.compustar.com/blog/can-you-remote-start-a-manual...

I still would never want it... but it's an interesting system.
