Oh boy, if you speak spanish...
Ocean Cleanup always felt scammy to me. Just a feeling. The videos they released of the nets dropping tons of plastic trash onto the deck of a ship just seemed off. All of the plastic looked brand new. And knowing that the "great garbage patch" is really just a bunch of microplastics also screamed fake to me.
I got my urology referral last week and had an appointment this morning...
Who's gonna tell the doctors and nurses that they get a 50% pay cut?

Kimi is basically a Chinese nationalist in every sense. Do I trust it to not insert software backdoors?

So far it's completely refusing to discuss Tiananmen square. And oh boy, try asking it if Xi Jinping looks like winnie the pooh.
I love these stories. The timeline is precious. And the comments from folks saying "gee, you picked the most complicated business entity, joke's on you!"

Just looking at my own state (Michigan) I can form the most "complicated" entity for $60 filing fee. Using a fill-in-the-blank form online. And have it approved the same day for an additional $50. Get an EIN online from the IRS in 10 minutes. Walk to a bank and open an account in about another hour. Annual renewal fee is $20.

In less than a day and for $110, I have a corporation, EIN (federal tax registration number), and bank account. Open for business. An LLC is the same, just a different form filed with the state.

I can then open credit card accounts online in the business name, register for sales tax online (get the license in about a week), and open a stripe account.

Oh, and a businessowners general liability insurance policy is costing me $205 per year. $1 million in liability coverage.

I asked z.ai what z.ai is, and it said "It seems you might be referring to xAI, as "z.ai" isn't a widely known or major AI company or platform at this time."
Re:State of the Windows: What is going on with Windows 11? on Monday January 26, 2026 @05:37PM (#46772613)
XP was peak Windows.
Wow. I went to law school and was on the law review. That was our precise job for the papers selected for publication. To verify every single citation.

No, the "market" is 6 billion people making thousands of individual decisions daily.
I wonder if he still holds all that in his Roth IRA.
lol, "American Law Firm"

Good god what a meaningless "right" where all of the exceptions eat the rule.
Democracy. Vote yourself money.

Another nuisance Facebook pixel lawsuit threat

Just FYI to everyone who manages a website. We received another facebook pixel "wiretapping" lawsuit demand from another bottom-feeding ambulance chasing law firm. This is despite us having a CMP and blocking the pixel for people in CA who don't consent. It just not worth the headache anymore. We're just dropping the facebook pixel altogether. The marking team will have to figure out how to...

Unfortunately, there are two things keeping me on Windows:

1) Office (libreoffice is a steaming pile) 2) Fortnite

If those can be solved, I'm done with Windows. I've been a windows fanboi since 3.11. But I'm finally ready to move to Debian desktop (even Ubuntu has gotten crappy lately).

That’s my roadblock. I need Office and still want to be able to play Fortnite.
Re:When DEF CON partners with the U.S. Army on Wednesday August 13, 2025 @11:00AM (#44889347)
That Skytalks still requires masking is absurd. I saw the organizers at DEFCON walking around with no masks. The last skytalks at DEFCON a couple of years ago was pretty bad anyways, really disappointing.
"Schreiber acknowledged that the driver, George McGee, was negligent when he blew through flashing lights, a stop sign and a T-intersection at 62 miles an hour before slamming into a Chevrolet Tahoe that the couple had parked to get a look at the stars."
Probably a few million, tops.
Good lord, $129 million in compensatory damages is absurd.

One thing you notice when visiting Florida is that every other billboard says "In a wreck? Get a check! Call Lawyer Ambulance Chaser Jones!!"

Wow, they created a site that doxxes all of WPEngine's users. Incredibly sh*tty.

Well worth the read.
I do a povodone/saline nasal spray rinse when flying. Then use my navage to clear out my sinuses when I arrive at my destination. Can't tell you if it works, but I historically have gotten sick when I travel and I've noticed a reduction in getting sick since I started this protocol.
She's written five so far this term.
