Re:Ask HN: How do you get new readers for your blog on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:03AM (#50259539)
I don’t publish my own content often but what I have seen work is posting to relevant subreddits where people may find the topic interesting.

As for your second question, I find most of my tech content here, Reddit, and (oddly) Instagram. I find The Almighty Algorithms to be a better source of interesting content than my own curated list of sites.

Re:Brown student maps the hidden global labor powering AI on Monday October 26, 2026 @03:22PM (#50249520)
Oh good, it wasn't just me.
Didn't know this was a thing. I'll look into it.
Oh cool. Thanks, dude! Feel free to send a message to say hi :)
hahaha yes, this exactly
Author here, happy to answer any questions. I never imagined a polyfill for http_build_url would gain so much traction. After 12 years, deprecating it feels like the right move, especially given the new options from the community and PHP itself.
Yeah, this was one of my first thoughts too. It’s impossible to know but I wonder how many of these “unknown exploits” have been in use by government agencies for years already. Or decades, apparently.
I have to agree with you. We don’t talk nearly enough about the real signal to nose ratio.

(Sorry. I couldn’t resist lol)

Setting up vLLM in an LXC isn’t necessarily difficult but, even after doing it several times, it can be tedious. These are the notes I’ve taken along the way, if only for my own reference next weekend.
Re:Why do U.S. coins seem to be in short supply? on Monday July 20, 2020 @12:22AM (#23894635)
Ya know, that’s what I would’ve thought as well, but a year or two ago Chase Bank refused to take my loose change. They sent me away with the paper to roll the coins myself to bring back to them
Don’t worry about it. He got rid of it.

This sounds like the setup to a bad joke.
Hi, Steve.
Come back to me when I can have serverless quantum neural blockchain AI.
This got a loud, hearty laugh out of me. Someone get this person a beer.
Re:Tell HN: Slack decides to close down IRC and XMPP gateways on Wednesday March 07, 2018 @05:12PM (#16540442)
>I'm very disappointed to see that Slack has decided to go the way of every other messaging service and move away from decentralized and standardized protocols

If every major messaging service eventually does this maybe those decentralized and standardized protocols are the problem.

Re:Show HN: Continuous Integration for PHP development on Sunday January 26, 2014 @11:24PM (#7128794)
Okay, I've updated the "app" and it now only runs the tests when code has been modified. I'm using fswatch and the entire thing still fits into a tweet :)
Re:Show HN: Continuous Integration for PHP development on Sunday January 26, 2014 @10:02PM (#7128487)
Yeah, that's a really good point. I doubt it would fit in a tweet anymore, but it would be worth it. Thanks for the feedback and the link to Guard. I'll have to drop a link to that on the site.

Good stuff. Works well on iOS.
