Re:Calculate Dora Metrics for Free on Sunday March 29, 2026 @11:17AM (#47563893)
This is a great question. For the launch this is by repo, which is okay for our organization because our four pods each have their own codebase. We look at DORA at a team level, and if the metrics aren't where they need to be we dig into the lower level to see where friction is. Are tickets not where they need to be? Too large? ? Is a developer struggling with a particular work etc.

I'll put a feature on the roadmap (first user item that came from feedback thank you) that lets you aggregate multiple repos together for that use case!!! Super helpful and quite easy to accomplish.

I just released Are We Deploying in beta — built on my belief in DORA Metrics. I've been running engineering teams for 15 years, and I believe in these metrics for engineering health over crap like burn down, and story points.

The app currently supports GitHub and Uptime Robot, my personal stack, and the tools where I work. A feedback widget is live with the app. Give me the Good, bad, integration requests, anything. I want to hear it all. Thanks for looking.

I really appreciate your feedback.

Are you guys using this for OpenClaw or what?

thats huge! whisper is my goto and crushes transcription. I really like whisper.cpp as it runs even faster for anyone looking for standalone whisper
What a peaceful setup. Which monitors are those?
I use an APC with a management cable, triggers graceful shutdown and startup on reconnection. It also e-mails me and stores a log. I prefer this approach so 99% of ecosystem isn't on the server, you can let your server do server things and not be the battery police.

utc is the way and never trusting client side time, granted this could be server side time i guess

Ironically I made something just like this 2 years ago, but much less sophisticated and pretty.

If you want any help or to collab on future iterations please shoot me an email.

WELL documented and a great read gents.
Did they ever fine anyone over AT&T letting NSA tap into all decrypted network data, cause that seems a lot more egregious lol.

This was a fun read, appreciate your work. Did you read anything about iCloud Private Relay emails and how they get used with apple pay?

Re:New York Times Connections Cheat Bookmarklet on Wednesday September 13, 2023 @04:23PM (#37501256)
TLDR, I made a bookmarklet to autofill connections answers. Why? Because I was doing an experiment teaching my own AI Model the words/answers to see if it could beat an out of the box ChatGPT prompt that was not fairing well against the tricky nature of the game itself (there's a lot of overlap between words intentionally). I figured i'd share it, even though you should still play the game legit. PS, I used jQuery and didn't write it as DRY as i'd like, two things that bother me, but it got the answers reliably to test against the AI models. Soon i'll publish the results of the AI model/ChatGPT and share here.
Re:The Amazon Premium on Thursday December 19, 2019 @12:34PM (#21837116)
I'm no AWS fanboy, and sure its not the cheapest out there, but this is assuming that all cloud providers provide the same level of services for their machines, which is a complete joke. There are OS, Software, security, ease of tools, even speed of scale considerations that have more to do with why 90% of the internet is on AWS lol. There's a reason the only approved government cloud for years has been AWS. Also, heads up, AWS also offers far more services than ALL of those other providers you mentioned. So when you actually start running a real ONLINE business, and need ETL, MUTLI-AZ, WHAREHOUSEING, AUTOSCALE, S3, ETC, all those things talk to each other out of the box and your vendor list doesn't go from 1 to 50.
Re:Ask HN: Curious to know if people still use IRC? on Tuesday December 03, 2019 @02:49PM (#21695964)
I use it all the time. I grew up on IRC (37 a few weeks ago). Personally, I learned a lot infastucture and engineering from this IRC. Recently my team hit a problem using an open source ruby gem from AWS, that took us 2 weeks to find. It wasn't us that found it, but a chatter in the #ruby channel that had originally written the code 5 years prior, and knew of a conflict between two specific AWS GEMS. This would of taken months and thousands of lines of code to find. IRC FTW
Re:When will Google shut down Stadia? on Thursday November 21, 2019 @12:11PM (#21596449)
This title is such click bait lol. Granted this service was a terrible idea in the first place, and WILL be shutdown, but this is a hypothesis, extrapolated over hundreds of companies that have nothing to do with each other.
Re:Ask HN: What did you find in your DNA using 23andme? on Wednesday November 14, 2018 @01:17PM (#18452233)
My mom found out she had a brother she never knew about. Her father had another family from before her birth. Pretty crazy stuff.

This is awesome. If I had the money I'd bid on this all day ... it benefits an amazing human rights organization! GO BID!
