I would be surprised if nobody already created a plugin for firefox/chrome that adds dark mode honestly
It's as if the world is filled with many people with lots of different opinions
Was the Albert Heijn outage due to the fridge issues as well?
It does however lower the barrier of entry and increases what a smaller team of developers can achieve with the same amount of resources. There's still been a major paradigm shift in our industry.
So it probably (I mean honestly I believe anything can happen at this point) doesn't mean every business will just start writing all of their own software (cheaper doesn't mean free), the bar for building your own stuff has lowered so there will for sure be more software written for internal use instead of using some off the shelf program.
And there will be more competition among software companies because everyone can now build much more with much less resources.
I liked it, felt right for the video
How can you earn 500k/year and not be able to retire and live off of your index fund investment after a few years... Where did all that money go?
That's because Rotterdam is Europe's largest sea port. About half of our exports are actually re-exports that don't have their origin in the Netherlands.
Maybe it's different for different people?
Ah yes and Bolsonaro is of course an enemy of Putin
When the chinese or any other party releases a model that is Opus 5.5 level, there might be a shift to other providers as especially people in the EU are trying to get rid of their dependency on american stuff.
Maybe we're spoiled, but when I tell my daughter she's not allowed the screen now, she complains but eventually she'll start doing something else.
Yeah sometimes this turns into an emotional outburst. So what? She's a toddler sometimes the emotional outburst just happens because the sofa looked at her wrong.
It seems to make the special cases where she is allowed the screen for longer (long car/van rides for example) work better.
It's the fossil fuel industry who is pushing for carbon capture (because they know it isn't viable). The fossil fuel industry is just running the tobacco company playbook.
it allows you to read words on a screen
we still have to look at a terminal though so a nice monospace font is always welcome
(although I'll keep using Fira)
So "never have" might not be true. But what about the rest of the comment?
Only when the punishment for not complying is a certain (ever increasing) % of their revenue. And it is actually enforced.
Those cars are also just very practical for a lot of people. It's not a family car, but not everyone needs a family car. Afaik they are so popular because they can be leased relatively cheaply.
This was true when adding features cost a lot of time and mental effort.
Nowadays, it's just a prompt away. LLM's can still run around in circles when the code quality is bad enough, but LLM's are also getting exceedingly better at catching that and writing code that's good.
We're all in a different phase of the collective grieving process, some are still in denial, I would put you in the bargaining phase judging from the comment.
Weird, does not seem my experience. Then again we have loads of code where claude can look up our best practices and just copy it for another module, and we try to do everything as idiomatic as possible. Especially Opus 5.5 seems to be very good at this. It really is a step up even from Fable 5.1.
Also when doing a cleanup session we do give pointers where we see friction. That seems to help point it in the right direction.
Might is pretty tame, it is infected - EDIT: title was changed, it said "might be infected".
The malware seems to inject some JS payload to execute when zod is installed, by fetching it from an ethereum smart contract (if I understand it correctly).
Don't forget to flag the version on npm.
EDIT: looks like the update never got on NPM: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=50053253
Throwback to the spacer gif era where we would slice a photoshop design and make it fit in HTML tables
I remember moving on to PNG when that was implemented in most browsers and suddenly you could do gradients that end in transparency...
Mostly just de-googled android
What models are you using?
> First, I don't trust the elites to share in the wealth. I expect fuedalism to ensue.
They will share just enough so people are content enough not to riot. Keeping the masses at bay will mean they get to build even more wealth.
When enough people stop being able to buy food is when revolution happens.
I'd be interested at which problem you passed to an (which?) LLM that they weren't able to solve?
I think you overestimate how many users actually care that something is mediocre or not, as long as it gets the job done.
That's the state now. Look at the leaps that were made just in the last few months.
