Right, because I must be a paid shill to write about my experience that is counter to the popular opinion shared on hacker news. Look, I bought one. All I said is I don't experience the battery issues. Your accusations on me shilling is hilarious. I'm done with this thread. If you need a safe space where people won't challenge your ideas continue as is.

$0. Just tired of all the overhype. Buy one yourself. If you don't like it/battery sucks return it for Jan 8th and get something better suited for you.

I program using eclipse and get all day battery life. I think the battery life issue is overhyped.

Re:Apple removing battery life estimates following MacBook Pro complaints

I do dev work. I easily get all day battery life. People complain, people take those complaints as truth for all the MBP 15". None of those complaints about battery life have proven true for mine.

I get more than 5 hours on my MBP 15". Battery issues are unfounded on my device. Have you used one and tested it yourself? If so, return it to the store and get new one.

No. I am wondering the exact same thing. The MBP bash on reddit/HN seems like a cry for easy karma. I love everything about the new MBP and even have good battery life with it!

At this point it seems "My MBP 15" has sucky battery life" or "The new MBP sucks!" is a karma gold mine -- I actually own a tbMBP 15" and haven't had any battery nor functionality issues with it. It's an all day programming device for me and suits that purpose very well.

Don't listen to the reviews here. My MBP 15" (late-2016) is fine. I get all day battery life too. You can return it Jan 8th if it doesn't work for you. Hearing complaints from people who never used it is tiring.

I know it's popular on HN and Reddit to bash the MBP, but could be just me.. I love my new 2016 MBP 15". Haven't experienced any issues with battery life. Use it to program on and have been very satisfied with it.

I plan to enter a PhD program in 1-2 years to specialize in ML/Deep Learning. Assuming it'll take 5-6 years to complete my degree how applicable should my skill sets be in industry at that point?
