Unsure if anyone here uses Technitium DNS(Opensource and free). It works on minimal hardware. I am running it on an Orange Pi 3 LTS.

Re:sudo and su Being Rewritten in Rust for Memory Safety on Saturday April 29, 2023 @02:03PM (#35755433)
Isn't "C Runtime" inaccurate?

Wouldn't it be the static or dynamic linked libraries for the particular program in question?

I would recommend an edit to the title to include Europe.

Re:Observability vs. monitoring debate: An irreverent view on Monday November 29, 2021 @03:52PM (#29385126)
Not to be rude, Monitoring is observing problems and then responding to the alarm in realtime.

You cannot compare the two. Yet we do in certain circumstances and that is a loss in understanding, which I am sad about.

Excuse my intrigue. Is this topic biased to language design or experience using php?
Re:Why SQLite does not use Git (2018) on Friday November 05, 2021 @08:28PM (#29126230)
It is because the features on github.com directly correlate to a git feature.

Please place the person's name in the title instead of the title reading Japan's Thomas Edison.
Re:Time to retire the CSV? on Wednesday August 18, 2021 @08:12PM (#28228849)
I might have a different perspective than most, but I think csv as a raw access method is far better than any structured format.

The contract on what is transfered or how it's mapped in your csv is developer to developer and not in code.

This is a problem and also a benefit.

As long as both systems are designed to read and write the csv correctly(there in also the problem of verification), csv works flawlessly and retains its simplicity.

Re:My Take on Microsoft's Windows 11 Hot Mess on Tuesday June 29, 2021 @09:38PM (#27683938)
My honest opinion is, We should consider the Ycombinator demographic that is going to go ever younger.

There are going to be younger programmers, what do we do about them?

I have learned a lot from the articles here, but at the cost of being burnt most times, we need a handle or method to make Ycombinator accesible for new learners. Ask HN Noob?

Haven't heard about LinkedIn trying to login using social media, but LinkedIn has a feature that does contact import.

LinkedIn asks me to sync my contact/address book information from another source. After the import runs they show you connections that match your contacts sometimes in the connections tab.

I use a western broad for most of my writing. I would also recommend Lamy Safari as a good beginners pen because of its ease of use and wide variety of nib choices.
I highly recommend the Rossman repair group channel for his recordings of public right to repair bills and the hearings he attends.

Some of the testimonies make no sense

I am happy that Bob is safe. We still need a smart watch that can function using a battery or at a capacity of a normal watch to make this event a bigger success.
