If it is going to be so cheap that you can run a good LLM model locally, it will certainly cheaper to run it at scale in the cloud.

Although, I hope I won't need be dependent on some cloud provider. So I am looking for a day that this comes.

I am a big believer in Seed-Strapping. You need some initial capital to get you started (can be as low as a few months of your own salary). But you should aim to bootstrap your solution.
Hi,

If you are looking for an SQL generator that can handle common analytical questions, I recommend www.mitzu.io. (i am the founder)

It is like Mixpanel + Chartmogul combined in a single tool, but it autogenerates SQL data on top of your "event tables".

For python there is a lib for this, but it is a bit crappy.

Databricks: Warehouse-Native vs. Traditional Product Analytics?

One of our customers has a data lake (Databricks). They collect every product event into it. Every event has its table in the Unity Catalog. It would make perfect sense to run a warehouse-native product analytics solution. We currently send every event to Amplitude, but the costs are enormous and rising.Does anybody have experience with warehouse native product analytics?

I asked 3 data analysts to answer the same question. The answers made me start my first open-source project.

Show HN: Mitzu the open-source Amplitude alternative

Mitzu is an open-source product analytics tool that directly queries your data warehouse or data lake. (Something like Rakam was before Liveramp bought it)We designed Mitzu for people who don't know or don't want to write SQL or python analytical queries. It is only an MVP yet. So please be gentle :) We are looking for constructive feedback :)Landing page: https://mitzu.io Demo app (sign in...
